Financial Stability Success Strategies For Nursing Homes, Jennifer Helene Garrison Feb 2026

Financial Stability Success Strategies For Nursing Homes, Jennifer Helene Garrison

Walden Dissertations and Doctoral Studies

Ineffective regulatory strategies can lead to reduced financial stability. Nursing home leaders who wrestle to improve regulatory practices may find their business facing reduced financial sustainability. Grounded in management by objectives theory, the purpose of this qualitative pragmatic inquiry research project was to identify and explore the effective strategies nursing home leaders used to implement regulatory compliance practices that increase financial sustainability. The participants were nine nursing home leaders who had successfully implemented regulatory compliance strategies within their organizations. Data was collected through semistructured interviews, public websites, and current and archival public documents. Through thematic analysis, three themes were identified: …

University Placed-Based Community Engagement And Adult Learners: A Field Report In Mutual Flourishing, Elisabeth Stevens, Kate Witvliet, Abbie Lipsker, Craig Mattson

University Faculty Publications and Creative Works

Although higher education increasingly focuses on both community engagement and adult learners, community-engaged research rarely considers them together. This article bridges the gap in the literature between undergraduate adult learners and community engagement. Providing one example of a partnership that considers adult learners as necessary partners for community engagement, Calvin University’s 49507 Initiative is a place-based community educational project in southeast Grand Rapids, Michigan, focusing on the goals and needs of adult learners in the 49507 zip code and adjacent neighborhoods. Through 12 focus groups in the community, adult residents discussed their interests in higher education, identified barriers to higher …

AimWe investigated how local-scale environmental heterogeneity influences biodiversity patterns across broad biogeographic gradients, using intertidal microhabitats as a model system within one of the most environmentally stressful ecosystems on Earth.LocationIntertidal habitats at 26 locations (two rocky shore sites per location) across six continents, spanning 98° of latitude (38°S to 60°N).Time Period2019–2022.Major Taxa StudiedAlgae, sessile and mobile invertebrates.MethodsWe compared biodiversity and thermal environments across contrasting microhabitats (rock pools and adjacent emergent rock) along a latitudinal gradient, sampling during environmentally ‘milder’ and ‘harsher’ periods. Biodiversity was quantified using multiple richness metrics (mean, total, unique taxa) and functional diversity.ResultsMicrohabitat differences strongly influenced biodiversity …

Regalado V. Hughes Avenue Corp. And The Department Of Housing Preservation And Development Of The City Of New York Feb 2026

Regalado V. Hughes Avenue Corp. And The Department Of Housing Preservation And Development Of The City Of New York

All Decisions

In this HP proceeding, the tenant moved for civil contempt and civil penalties against the landlord for failing to comply with a consent order to correct HPD violations, including those for mold and lead-based paint. The court granted the tenant's motion, finding the landlord in civil contempt for non-compliance with the order. The landlord's arguments, including a vague superintendent's affirmation and an unauthenticated D.H.P.D. repair bill, were insufficient to rebut the presumption that violations persisted. The court imposed a $350 per day fine, payable to the tenant, until outstanding "C" and "B" violations are corrected, and referred the calculation of …

17 Pennsylvania Avenue Hdfc V. Ventura

All Decisions

In this holdover proceeding concerning an HDFC, the Civil Court of the City of New York granted the tenant's motion for summary judgment, dismissing the case. The landlord sought to evict the long-term tenant, alleging good cause based on consistent failure to pay rent. However, after applying DRIE credits, the landlord's records only showed three months of unpaid rent totaling $1,500 from 2020. The court, citing precedent and emphasizing the affordable housing purpose of HDFCs, found that this minor, unpursued debt from several years prior did not constitute good cause for eviction. The tenant's counterclaim for harassment was severed.

Unravelling Antecedents And Bidirectional Impacts Of Nurse Work Rumination: A Scoping Review To Enhance Nurses’ Well-Being And Improve Nursing Quality, Wenjun Hu, Xiaofeng Xie, Xun Xu, Siying Wei, Ling Zhu, Yawen An

Faculty Research, Scholarly, and Creative Activity

Background Globally, work rumination is a common phenomenon related to nurse burnout. However, most existing studies focus on the single negative impacts of rumination, with less exploration of its dual effects and antecedents. Therefore, comprehensively exploring the effect of nurse work rumination and its influencing factors is crucial for enhancing the accuracy of nursing management. Objectives Identify the antecedents and dual effects of nurse work rumination to deepen understanding of this phenomenon and provide references for formulating interventions that enhance nurses’ well-being and improve the quality of nursing work. Eligibility criteria Included studies were original research articles focusing on work-related …

Evaluating The Implementation Of Oregon's Dsm-5-Informed Autism Eligibility Revisions: Interest-Holder Perspectives And Policy Implications, Bradley Josef Hendershott Feb 2026

Evaluating The Implementation Of Oregon's Dsm-5-Informed Autism Eligibility Revisions: Interest-Holder Perspectives And Policy Implications, Bradley Josef Hendershott

Dissertations and Theses

Under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), states establish their own autism spectrum disorder (ASD) eligibility criteria, resulting in substantial interstate variation and frequent misalignment with medical diagnostic standards. In 2019, Oregon revised its ASD eligibility criteria by directly incorporating DSM-5 diagnostic criteria, reflecting proponents' theory of action that this alignment would improve conceptual clarity, identification accuracy, and coherence across educational and medical systems. While an early implementation study documented generally positive early effects reported by evaluators, no research has systematically examined whether the DSM-5 alignment achieved its anticipated effects, how the revised criteria function after multiple years of …

Bergmann glia (BG) are a specialized glial population essential for cerebellar development, yet their developmental timeline and molecular identity in the human cerebellum remain poorly understood. Here, we combined detailed histopathological analysis with spatial transcriptomics and single-nucleus RNA sequencing to generate a developmental atlas of human cerebellar BG. Histology revealed that BG emerge around 11 post-conception weeks (PCW), initially serving as a scaffold for Purkinje cells (PCs) migrating into the PC layer of the cerebellar cortex. Following the establishment of a multilayered PC arrangement, BG form a distinct parallel layer separated from the PCs by the lamina dissecans (LD), with …

Animals must balance behavioral goals with the energetic costs of movement. How such trade-offs are implemented algorithmically during natural behavior, and how they adapt to changing energetic constraints, remains poorly understood. Here we show that larval zebrafish adjust their motor strategies during prey hunting to minimize energy expenditure. Using high-speed video tracking and 3D computational fluid dynamics simulations, we quantified the energy costs (in Joules) of different movement types across three developmental stages. While the structure of discrete movement types ("bouts") remained stable with age, their selection probabilities changed depending on their energetic cost, such that more expensive bouts were …

2020-Current year OA Pubs

BACKGROUND: Several observational studies have supported the use of conscious sedation (CS) for endovascular thrombectomy in patients with acute ischemic stroke and associated general anesthesia (GA) with poor functional outcomes. Recently, few randomized controlled trials have shown no difference in the functional outcomes between GA and CS. The aim of this paper is to compare the outcomes of GA versus CS in patients with acute ischemic stroke undergoing mechanical thrombectomy in the MOST (Multi-arm Optimization of Stroke Thrombolysis) trial.

METHODS: Patients who underwent mechanical thrombectomy for acute ischemic stroke under GA or CS in the MOST trial were included. The …
