Navigation System Using Sensory Profiles And A Personalized Cost Function, N/A
Navigation System Using Sensory Profiles And A Personalized Cost Function, N/A
Defensive Publications Series
Navigation systems can calculate routes based on metrics such as travel time and distance, which may not account for the subjective sensory experience of a journey for individuals with sensory sensitivities. Systems and methods are described for sensory-aware routing that can ingest and process various geolocated data streams, including, for example, visual, acoustic, and semantic information. A multimodal inference engine may analyze this data to quantify sensory attributes for geographic path segments, generating a multidimensional sensory vector that can represent characteristics such as auditory intensity and visual complexity. A personalized routing engine could then utilize an expanded cost function, incorporating …
Framework For Multi-Ai Orchestration Via Task Arbitrage And Byzantine Consensus, Tanmay Kayande
Framework For Multi-Ai Orchestration Via Task Arbitrage And Byzantine Consensus, Tanmay Kayande
Defensive Publications Series
This defensive publication describes a framework for multi-artificial intelligence (AI) orchestration that can be used to address potential limitations associated with reliance on single AI models, such as correlated systemic failures or cognitive blind spots. The described system is a cognitive orchestration framework that can function as a middleware layer to manage tasks across a heterogeneous ensemble of AI models. An orchestrator node can decompose a user request into a sequence of sub-tasks, which an arbitrage engine may then dynamically assign to suitable AI models based on certain factors, such as capability, cost, and latency. For certain tasks, such as …

Weapons Of Belief (How Ai Quietly Rewrites Reality Before Systems Even Realize They’Ve Been Attacked), Pranav Bhatnagar Mr
Defensive Publications Series
Modern cybersecurity assumes that systems fail when they are breached. This paper challenges that assumption. A new class of threats is emerging one that does not attack systems directly, but instead targets what systems believe to be true. These “perception-layer attacks” operate without intrusion, without malware, and without triggering alarms, yet they can produce outcomes as impactful as traditional cyberattacks. Through analysis of AI-driven decision systems, real-world ransomware negotiations, misinformation propagation, and predictive feedback loops, this work demonstrates how belief can be manipulated at scale. The result is a shift where systems do not need to be compromised to fail …

The Intelligence Trap (When Smart Systems Become The Perfect Tool For Strategic Deception), Pranav Bhatnagar Mr
Defensive Publications Series
The increasing reliance on artificial intelligence in decision-making systems has introduced a paradox the very intelligence designed to optimize accuracy and efficiency can also amplify strategic deception. This paper examines how advanced AI systems, by prioritizing pattern recognition and probabilistic reasoning, can be guided toward misleading yet internally consistent conclusions.
Unlike traditional cyber threats that target system vulnerabilities, this work explores how intelligent systems themselves become instruments of influence. Through structured input alignment, feedback reinforcement, and trust amplification, adversaries can exploit system intelligence to produce deceptive outcomes without direct compromise.
The paper introduces the concept of the “Intelligence Trap,” where …

Automated Framework For Evaluating The Helpfulness Of Support Interactions, Chris Pentoney, Bei He, Anya Hee, Yue Guo, Phil Masui, Stanley Gu, David Kovit
Defensive Publications Series
This publication describes a helpfulness evaluation framework that utilizes large language models to evaluate the relevance and completeness of automated support interaction transcripts. By interpreting conversation logs instead of relying solely on user feedback, the framework provides an objective metric for helpfulness and efficient resolution while avoiding the typical biases found in manual surveys. The system analyzes user requests, assesses generated answers against specific criteria, and provides structured justifications along with failure categorization tags to identify and resolve specific service issues.
Keywords: large language model, support interaction, evaluation framework, helpfulness, automated scoring, customer support, sentiment analysis, session transcript, natural language …

Ai Virtual Test Preflight Using Source Code And Environment Models, Raji Vinayagam, Sajeev Ramachandran, Shivram Salem Arunachalam
Defensive Publications Series
This proposal introduces an AI-driven virtual test preflight system that predicts test-blocking issues before execution by combining structured test intent, environment constraints, and reachable code path analysis. By triangulating a Test Plan, an Environment Model, and a Code Graph, the proposed system identifies likely failures early and provides explainable, test-step-specific predictions without requiring full runtime execution.
Multi-Axis Structural Evaluation Of Trajectory State In Sequential Systems, Thom Pham
Multi-Axis Structural Evaluation Of Trajectory State In Sequential Systems, Thom Pham
Defensive Publications Series
This disclosure describes a structural representation of system trajectory state using multiple independent axes. Rather than reducing system behavior to a single scalar signal, trajectory state is evaluated across a set of orthogonal dimensions capturing distinct structural properties. The interaction between these axes enables the detection of stability, drift, and closure conditions that are not observable under single-metric evaluation.
Governance Signal Taxonomy, Typed Lifecycle Object Model, And Semantic Classification Framework For Runtime Ai Governance Infrastructure, Roy Pellicano
Defensive Publications Series
This publication discloses a governance signal taxonomy defining six semantic classes of observable events meaningful for governance purposes — Detection, Awareness, Action, Verification, Authority, and Outcome — and a corresponding typed lifecycle object model for managing governance signals, obligations, controls, risks, and outcomes as first-class governance artifacts with defined lifecycle states and downstream consumption interfaces. The disclosed taxonomy classifies events by the governance function they serve, which is orthogonal to security severity classification used in conventional SIEM systems and to timestamp-actor recording used in conventional audit trails. In one embodiment, a governance operational layer receives runtime events from heterogeneous sources, …

Defensive Publications Series
Starlift V3 is a three‑layer orbital launch architecture integrating moderate‑velocity electromagnetic launch, an extended Electromagnetic Capture Corridor (ECC), and a two‑stage orbital momentum‑exchange tether system. The design avoids exotic materials, extreme precision requirements, and single‑point megastructures. All components rely on known or near‑term technologies and can be validated through progressive subscale testing. The architecture emphasizes modularity, failure tolerance, and realistic engineering constraints. This whitepaper presents the system design, engineering specifications, operational principles, and comparison to prior art.
Digital Twin-Based Reinforcement Learning With Optical Flow For Physically Realistic Video Generation, Ágoston Weisz
Digital Twin-Based Reinforcement Learning With Optical Flow For Physically Realistic Video Generation, Ágoston Weisz
Defensive Publications Series
Generative video models can produce content that may not consistently adhere to physical laws, which can result in implausible motion such as objects defying gravity. This characteristic may limit their utility in applications that could benefit from physical realism. A physics-guided reinforcement learning framework can be implemented to address this condition. For example, a system may use a physics simulator, such as a digital twin, to generate a physically-consistent trajectory from a text prompt, creating a reference optical flow map. An optical flow map can also be extracted from the video generated by the model. A reward signal, which may …
Non-Destructive Confirmation Of Threaded Connection Integrity For Premium Oilfield Casing And Tubular Goods Using External Phased-Array Ultrasonic Sensing, Joseph Breaux
Defensive Publications Series
This publication describes applying an external phased sensor array (e.g., ultrasonic phased-array sensor system) to non-destructively confirm the integrity of premium threaded tubular connections during Tubular Running Services (TRS) operations. The method uses ultrasonic wave transmission through the outside diameter of a box connection (female end) to generate a visualization of internally facing threads, seals, and adjacent critical features. The resulting indications can reveal gaps, unexpected metal accumulations, or other events consistent with galling and imperfect makeup conditions that may not be detectable using conventional torque-and-turn measurements. The technique enables rapid, non-invasive integrity confirmation suitable for use on the rig …

Igniting Actor Imagination Through Ignatian-Inspired Exercises And Praxis In Performance: Teaching Thea. 351 The Last Days Of Judas Iscariot, Maria Victoria Lingbanan
Igniting Actor Imagination Through Ignatian-Inspired Exercises And Praxis In Performance: Teaching Thea. 351 The Last Days Of Judas Iscariot, Maria Victoria Lingbanan
LMU Theses and Dissertations
This paper proposes an emerging approach to actor training that deepens imaginative engagement by integrating Ignatian Spirituality into theatrical practice. It argues that an Ignatian‑inspired method—The Imagination Exercises, rooted in the Spiritual Exercises in Daily Life (SEEL)—effectively enhances the actor’s capacity for empathy, character investment, and emotional truth. Drawing on scholarship in acting, performance studies, and Catholic spiritual tradition, the study outlines a step‑by‑step application of these exercises within an undergraduate acting course. The method is implemented through lecture, rehearsal, and performance labs, culminating in a staged reading of The Last Days of Judas Iscariot. The paper demonstrates how the …
Asymptotic Sensitivity And Adjoint Methods For Equation Discovery With Open-Source Implementation, Nathan Schill
Asymptotic Sensitivity And Adjoint Methods For Equation Discovery With Open-Source Implementation, Nathan Schill
Theses and Dissertations
The "on-the-fly" (OTF) method is a gradient-based approach to equation discovery. It makes use of (potentially limited) observational data, a data assimilation technique such as continuous data assimilation (also called nudging), and an error metric. From these it computes an asymptotic approximation of a simulated system's error sensitivity with respect to unknown parameters and utilizes any gradient-based optimization algorithm to perform parameter updates. These parameter updates may be done online or offline, and the model may be of a precisely specified form or simply a library of possible terms with potentially nonlinear parameters. We have applied the adjoint method to …
Stack-Based Exploit Development Techniques In Mips Architectures, Justin Applegate
Stack-Based Exploit Development Techniques In Mips Architectures, Justin Applegate
Theses and Dissertations
Memory corruption vulnerabilities in binary executables represent a serious threat to software security, particularly in embedded and IoT (Internet of Things) devices that commonly use the MIPS architecture. While exploit development techniques for x86 are well-documented in academic literature, little systematic work exists on how those techniques translate to other architectures such as MIPS. This research addresses that gap by evaluating thirteen stack-based exploit development techniques and subtechniques, originally designed in the context of the x86 architecture, for their applicability to MIPS architectures. For each technique, vulnerable C code was written and compiled into both x86 and a set of …
The Transformation Of Physical Archives In A Digital Age, Gabriel A. Stadler Mr.
The Transformation Of Physical Archives In A Digital Age, Gabriel A. Stadler Mr.
Theses
Scholars involved in archival studies have increasingly examined how digitization has transformed the accessibility of archive collections. For example, Clifford Lynch, a leader in digital libraries and a computer scientist, argues that the development of institutional repositories emerged as a new strategy that allows universities to apply what he calls “serious, systematic leverage to accelerate changes taking place in scholarship and scholarly communication” (1). He later clarifies that he defines these institutional repositories as places that hold digital materials and are created by the institution. Similarly, archival theorists such as T.R. Schellenberg emphasize the research value of records and the …

Dnp Final Report: Lifting The Silence: Psychological Stress In Air Medical Crew Members, Justin Brooks
DNP Final Reports
Psychological stress among air medical crew members is a persistent concern with implications for workforce well-being, retention, and patient safety. Air medical transport environments are characterized by high-acuity clinical care, operational risk, irregular schedules, and repeated exposure to potentially traumatic events, all of which contribute to elevated stress levels. The purpose of this Doctor of Nursing Practice project was to evaluate the impact of a structured, evidence-based intervention designed to reduce psychological stress among air medical crew members within a single air medical transport program. Guided by the Johns Hopkins Evidence-Based Practice model, the project implemented a multimodal intervention incorporating …

Developing Text-To-Video Ai Workflows Through Creative Practice, Nathan S. Jensen
Staff Scholarship - Australia & Dubai
This creative practice project investigates the extent to which Gen-AI text-to-video tools can maintain coherence across a short multi-shot sequence rather than a single generated clip. This includes continuity in recurring characters, visual style, and simple narrative flow. Using a Creative Practice Scholarship framework and practice-based methodology, I developed Bush Friends, a proof-of-concept children’s television intro, as the artefact of experimentation. This project combined concept development, storyboard planning, iterative prompting, AI video generation, and editorial assembly using ChatGPT (OpenAI, n.d.) for ideation and prompt development, Kling 3.0 Omni (KlingAI, n.d.) for video generation, and DaVinci Resolve 20 (Blackmagic Design, n.d.) …

Crossing The Border: A Participatory Action Research Project For The Brentwood Oaks Church Of Christ To Engage With Spanish-Speaking Neighbors Through Missional Hospitality, Charles Johanson
Harding School of Theology Dissertations and Theses
Throughout Scripture, hospitality occupies a central place in the mission of God. Welcoming the stranger across cultural barriers requires the church to practice missional hospitality by playing the role of host and, especially, guest in the neighborhood. Moreover, small group experimentation facilitates the innovation necessary to effectively practice missional hospitality. Through experimentation in cross-cultural situations, church members increase their awareness of cultural differences that leads to opportunities for the congregation to welcome neighbors in loving, sacrificial, and hospitable ways. Brentwood Oaks Church of Christ (BOCC) resides next to a neighborhood with a high population of Spanish-speaking immigrants. The goal of …
The Psychology Of False Confessions– From Interrogation Lies To Courtroom Truths, Ashton L. Brophy
The Psychology Of False Confessions– From Interrogation Lies To Courtroom Truths, Ashton L. Brophy
Harding Undergraduate Research Conference
A confession is defined as a “detailed written or oral statement in which a person admits to having committed some transgression, often acknowledging guilt for a crime” (Kassin & Gudjonsson, 2004). There are three areas where confession has been deemed important, even necessary, societally: “religion, psychotherapy, and criminal justice” (Kassin & Gudjonsson, 2004). In all three contexts, confession is seen as necessary for absolution and social acceptance, making the statements of guilt feel weighted. Indeed, in the American criminal justice system, confessions often appear to have the final say in the question of a defendant’s innocence or guilt. However, not …
