METHODS: We evaluated outcomes of a strategy to enable PGHD in a medical oncology clinic from July 1, 2021 to December 31, 2022. Among 12,777 patients, 82.1% received a tobacco screener about use and interest in treatment as part of eCheck-in via the patient portal.

RESULTS: We attained a broad reach (82.1%) and moderate response rate (30.9%) for this low-burden PGHD strategy. Patients reporting current smoking (

DISCUSSION: PGHD via patient portal appears to be a …

Hybrid Spectral-Spatial Learning For Robust Graph Anomaly Detection Apr 2025

Hybrid Spectral-Spatial Learning For Robust Graph Anomaly Detection

Defensive Publications Series

Anomaly detection on graph data has garnered significant interest from both the academia and industry. In recent years, fueled by the rapid development of Graph Neural Networks (GNNs), various GNNs-based anomaly detection methods have been proposed and achieved good results. However, GNNs-based methods often assume that connected nodes have similar classes and features (homophily), leading to issues of class inconsistency and semantic inconsistency in graph anomaly detection, particularly when this assumption is violated. Existing methods have yet to adequately address these issues simultaneously, thereby limiting the detection performance of the model. Therefore, an anomaly detection method that consists of one …

Metastatic pancreatic cancer leads to a fatal outcome, with a median progression-free survival of approximately six months when utilizing the most successful combination of chemotherapeutic regimens. When drug resistance develops, it facilitates an increase in primary tumor growth and new and growing metastases. Patients inevitably and quickly succumb to their disease and die. Notably, chemotherapy has an unintended impact on the development of drug resistance through the enhancement of EMT development and the enrichment of cancer stem cells (CSC). Recent report discovered that neuraminidase-1 (Neu-1) regulates EMT induction, angiogenesis, and cellular proliferation by the activation of several receptor tyrosine kinases. …

Predator-Prey Model With Refuge, Fear And Z-Control, Ibrahim M. Elmojtaba, Kawkab Al-Amri, Qamar J.A. Khan

Sultan Qaboos University Journal For Science

In this paper, we consider a predator-prey model incorporating fear and refuge. Our results show that the predator-free equilibrium is globally asymptotically stable if the ratio between the death rate of predators and the conversion rate of prey into predator is greater than the value of prey in refuge at equilibrium. We also show that the co-existence equilibrium points are locally asymptotically stable if the value of the prey outside refuge is greater than half of the carrying capacity. Numerical simulations show that when the intensity of fear increases, the fraction of the prey inside refuge increases; however, it has …

Dicyclic Groups And Frobenius Manifolds, Yassir Dinar, Zainab Al-Maamari

Sultan Qaboos University Journal For Science

The orbits space of an irreducible representation of a finite group is a variety whose coordinate ring is finitely generated by homogeneous invariant polynomials. Boris Dubrovin showed that the orbits spaces of the reflection groups acquire the structure of polynomial Frobenius manifolds. Dubrovin’s method to construct examples of Frobenius manifolds on orbits spaces was carried for other linear representations of discrete groups which have in common that the coordinate rings of the orbits spaces are polynomial rings. In this article, we show that the orbits space of an irreducible representation of a dicyclic group acquires two structures of Frobenius manifolds. …

Magnetization Dynamics In A Perpendicular Anisotropy Free Layer Under A Spin Torque Effect With Crossed Polarization, Nafeesa Rahman, Rachid Sbiaa

Sultan Qaboos University Journal For Science

The transfer of spin angular momentum from a spin polarized current provides an efficient way of reversing the magnetization direction of the free layer of the magnetic tunnel junction (MTJ), and while faster reversal will reduce the switching energy, this in turn will lead to low power consumption. In this work, we propose a design where a spin torque oscillator (STO) is integrated with a conventional magnetic tunnel junction (MTJ) which will assist in the ultrafast reversal of the magnetization of the free layer of the MTJ. The structure formed (MTJ stacked with STO), will have the free layer of …
