Systematic Review Of The Institutionalization Of Service Learning In Higher Education, Wilmer Hernan Cruz Gutierrez
ASEAN Journal of Community Engagement
An increasing number of universities are integrating service-learning (SL) to fulfill their social mission. However, sustainable institutionalization of SL remains a persistent challenge. This study identifies and analyzes the factors, actors, and strategies that drive and inhibit SL institutionalization in higher education. Using the PRISMA 2020 guidelines, a systematic literature review analyzed 52 documents from seven academic databases (including WoS, Scopus, and ERIC). The findings were grouped into three sections: cultural (integration into institutional values/missions), process (articulation within teaching, research, and outreach), and structural dimensions (dedicated support entities). The results obtained reveal a reciprocal relationship where cultural alignment enables processual …

Environmental disasters have frequently been shown to impact the psycho-emotional states of humans, a phenomenon commonly termed eco-anxiety. Individuals who engage in close interactions with the environment may encounter more significant repercussions than other groups, including environmental volunteers. This study seeks to investigate the phenomenon of ecological anxiety among environmental volunteers. The study employed a qualitative phenomenological methodology, using three environmental volunteers as participants. Data were gathered through semi-structured, comprehensive interviews and analyzed using Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis (IPA). The results indicate that participants experienced the effects of environmental issues in three ways: emotionally, cognitively, and in their daily lives. Among …
Exploring Perceptions Of Self-Efficacy Among Newly Graduated Nurses In The Labor And Delivery Unit After The Use Of Rapid Cycle Deliberate Practice For Obstetric Emergencies, Amber L. Hulsey
Dissertations
Background: The average turnover rate among newly graduated nurses (NGNs) in the United States is 25-30% within their first year, with increased rates in high-stress units like obstetrics and critical care. Many risk factors contribute to the high turnover rate of NGNs, but one modifiable factor is feelings of self-efficacy. Studies have shown that simulation training can increase self-efficacy in obstetric emergencies. This study was conducted to explore feelings of self-efficacy among NGNs working in the labor and delivery unit after a rapid cycle deliberate practice (RCDP) simulation of an OB emergency.
Methods: The study used a descriptive …

Evaluating Generative Ai-Based User Interfaces Using An Integrated Neutrosophic Multi-Criteria Decision-Making Framework, Nada Mohamed, Alshaimaa A. Tantawy
Neutrosophic Systems with Applications
User Interface (UI) design can be seen as an essential aspect of human-computer interaction (HCI) and makes communication easier between people and technology. In today's digital economy, interface quality has become one of the most important business concerns, since it has a direct impact on customer satisfaction and retention while affecting revenue. Although creating user-centered and accessible interfaces is crucial, doing so is a difficult and time-consuming process, which leads to burnout for many usability professionals. Although conventional artificial intelligence (AI) was utilized for design assessment and automation, the arrival of generative AI technology has created new possibilities for automated …

Tenants displaced from their rent-stabilized apartment by fire were restored to possession after more than two years. Despite renting another apartment during displacement, the court found no surrender because no surrender agreement or payment ever materialized. The court held that failure to file a rent reduction order when the unit became uninhabitable does not constitute abandonment of the tenancy. The court declined to weigh the equities in favor of third-party tenants currently in the apartment, one of whom never appeared and the other failed to present testimony justifying why they should not vacate.

Healer Or Human? How Online Physician Reviews Guide Patient Choice, Shabnam Azimi, Sina Ansari, Ignacio Luri, Atefeh Yazdanparast
Faculty Publications
Online reviews increasingly guide physician choice, yet it remains unclear whether content emphasizing a physician's competence (technical skills) or benevolence (prioritizing patients' welfare over self‐interest) more strongly influences patients' decisions. Integrating a field study of 12,351 physician reviews with two online experiments, we distinguish two dimensions of review effectiveness: how helpful readers find a review, and how confident they feel about the choice it informs. We show that competence‐ and benevolence‐focused content influences these outcomes through distinct mechanisms. Benevolence‐focused reviews receive higher helpfulness evaluations because caring behaviors are easier to describe in concrete, vivid language and because naturalistic review platforms …

Recoverable Agentic Ai For Communication Networks: A Survey Of Architectures, Trust Regulation, And Failure Recovery, Omar K. Dawoud, Osama A. Ghoneim
Sustainable Machine Intelligence Journal
Agentic artificial intelligence is increasingly integrated into communication networks, enabling systems that perceive network state, reason over conditions, and execute actions on live infrastructure. As these systems act directly on operational environments, their behavior after failure remains insufficiently characterized: existing evaluation emphasizes throughput, latency, and accuracy, without capturing how systems recover after actions that affect network state. This survey examines agentic artificial intelligence in communication networks through the lens of recoverability, based on a systematically coded corpus of the recent literature. The paper introduces the MATR-R framework, which organizes recoverability around memory awareness, action governance, trust regulation, and recovery capability. …

Polycentric Islamic Finance: Authority, Law, And Structured Differentiation In A Global System, Muhammad Saarim Ghazi
Polycentric Islamic Finance: Authority, Law, And Structured Differentiation In A Global System, Muhammad Saarim Ghazi
Journal of King Abdulaziz University: Economics and Administration
Islamic finance has long been guided by an aspiration toward harmonization, with standardization and regulatory alignment viewed as pathways to coherence across jurisdictions and institutions. However, persistent variation in governance structures, interpretive approaches, and financial practices suggests that convergence has not been fully realized. This paper reconceptualizes variation not as a residual outcome of incomplete harmonization, but as a structurally generated feature of the system.
Drawing on a conceptual framework of polycentric authority, the study argues that Islamic finance operates through multiple, overlapping centers of decision-making, including transnational standard-setting bodies, national regulators, institutional Shari'ah boards, and market actors. Within this …
