Introduction: Cardiac tamponade after cardiac surgery is a life-threatening event that requires simultaneous resuscitation and emergent re-sternotomy by the intensive care team. A simulated scenario using an innovative mannequin with sternotomy wound has the capability of reproducing cardiac arrest associated with postoperative tamponade. We evaluated the validity of this mannequin to investigate the confidence level and crisis resource management skills of the team during bedside re-sternotomy to manage postoperative cardiac tamponade.

The study examined the impact of Pakistan-Nigeria Defense Cooperation on the Nigerian Armed Forces. The study utilized a descriptive survey and documentary research design to provide a comprehensive analysis of the cooperation’s dimensions. The target population comprised serving personnel across the Nigerian Armed Forces, including the Army, Navy, and Air Force, estimated at approximately 20,000 members nationwide. Using the Taro Yamane sample size determination technique, a sample size of 400 respondents was drawn from this population. Primary and secondary data collection methods were applied. This study examines Kompas.com’s news construction of the bombing at the Makassar Cathedral Church on 28 March 2021 by integrating Entman’s Media Framing theory with Fairclough’s Critical Discourse Analysis. Using all news reports published between 28 March and 5 April 2021, the study finds that Kompas frames the event through security-oriented diction, agent–action structures that foreground state authorities as the primary actors, and high-modality statements that minimize uncertainty during the early crisis phase. The term “natural” and naturalness labeling have increasingly been used on food packaging for a largely disinformed public who associate naturalness with qualities that are often not present in the products that display it. This survey-based study examines the influence of naturalness on the decision-making process of grocery shoppers in the United States. Survey responses were analyzed to determine the value participants place on products with naturalness indicators and to identify what other attributes they prioritize when shopping. This study investigates translanguaging practices in Indonesian secondary English classrooms and analyzes how teachers and students use multiple languages to enrich the learning experience. Drawing on observations, interviews, and field notes from two teachers and four students in West Java, the study found that translanguaging fosters student comprehension, confidence, and identity affirmation. Teachers strategically used English, Indonesian, and Sundanese to scaffold instruction across various phases, creating an inclusive learning environment. Students responded positively, pointing to a reduction in anxiety and improved participation. These findings are consistent with sociocultural learning theories and challenge monolingual ideologies. This study aims to explore English department students’ perceptions regarding the effectiveness of Fondi Application (FA) in enhancing speaking proficiency. FA is a Task-Based Language Teaching (TBLT) application that provides conversations in the form of voice calls packaged like games. This study investigates PVA-based films with the addition of gambir and heat treatment to improve the characteristics of the film. Methods include the synthesis of PVA film with gambir addition (0.5%), treated by heat treatment for 40 minutes and 60 minutes. The film was characterised by physicochemical, mechanical properties, and biodegradability. Data was analyzed using ANOVA with a significance of 95%. Results indicate that the surface of PVA/gambir films is smoother and more homogeneous as the heat treatment duration increases. CIGS material can be used as a material for photodetector applications. The deposition of CIGS thin films remains challenging. Generally, argon is used as a gas to bombard the CIGS material through the sputtering method. This study fabricated photodetectors by varying the argon gas flow rate (50-80 sccm) to investigate its effect on device performance. XRD, SEM, UV-Vis, and photoresponse tests were characterized. Structural analysis using XRD showed a weak (112) diffraction peak, indicating that the resulting film was not fully crystalline, but rather consisted of a nanocrystalline phase, even partly amorphous, with small crystallite sizes. Our paper analyses the practical dimensions of obtaining informed consent in qualitative research, drawing on the reflective insight from fieldwork conducted as part of a study on the professional identity of primary (elementary) teachers in community schools in Nepal. Our study builds on and extends the understanding of informed consent as a legal and ethical requirement (Kadam, 2017) while considering the complexities of fieldwork. Background: Altered expression of microRNAs (miRNAs) is implicated in lung carcinogenesis, but little research has investigated the association of miRNA alterations with lung cancer stage or smoking status. To identify such alterations in lung adenocarcinoma, we conducted miRNA profiling.

Methods: Lung adenocarcinoma specimens and paired nonneoplastic lung tissues from 58 patients who had received no preoperative therapy and underwent tumor resection from 1991 to 2006 were collected from tumor tissue banks. Medication reconciliation represents a critical safety process in psychiatric healthcare, where medication discrepancies affect up to 67% of hospitalized patients, with 30-40% potentially causing significant harm. This quality improvement project implemented a standardized medication reconciliation training program at a Texas mental health facility to address knowledge and confidence gaps among clinical staff. Using Kotter's 8-Step Change Model and the Iowa Model of Evidence-Based Practice, this quasi-experimental pre-post intervention study delivered three 30-minute interactive sessions to 12 multidisciplinary healthcare professionals. Climate change alters how strongly the atmosphere draws water from the land, yet a consistent global assessment of this evaporative demand has been lacking. Here, we analyze 45 years of climate data and global models to quantify trends in the key drivers—air temperature, humidity, radiation, wind speed, and cloud cover—that determine the atmosphere’s drying power. We find that evaporative demand has increased worldwide, indicating a stronger atmospheric thirst, except in South Asia, where it has declined. There, widespread irrigation has increased soil and air moisture, enhanced cloud formation, and reduced sunlight reaching the surface, counteracting the global signal. These contrasting …
