This study seeks to clarify and analyze the explicit and implicit strategic structures in two types of discourse—male discourse and female discourse—through the lens of pragmatics and cognitive linguistics. It examines concepts such as implicature, context, presupposition, shared knowledge, and the principles governing discourse (the Cooperative Principle and the Politeness Principle), all of which contribute to identifying the explicit and implicit strategies employed in both forms of discourse. Date palm (Phoenix dactylifera L.) is a cornerstone crop for Iraq and the wider MENA region, yet reliable in-field diagnosis of leaf disorders remains slow, labour-intensive, and constrained by a limited pool of agronomists. This paper presents PalmNet, a full-stack diagnostic system that classifies nine leaf conditions through a calibrated edge-cloud framework. The system is developed and evaluated on a public dataset of 3,089 field images spanning the nine classes, using a 70/15/15 stratified split. With the rapid advancement of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies such as ChatGPT, the use of knowledge graphs (KGs) has increased substantially in educational applications. As a technology for knowledge representation and management in AI, KGs play a pivotal role in personalized learning, educational resource integration and management, and learning performance prediction. Their scalability and semantic interpretability were particularly evident in online education during the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic. This qualitative narrative study examined the perceptions of community school hub members and Hispanic English learner parents at an elementary school in a suburban district. Eighty-four percent of the students at the study site were economically disadvantaged. The inquiry drew on sociocultural theory and Bronfenbrenner's ecological systems theory to explore how these hubs support families. Data were gathered through semi-structured interviews and field observations and analyzed using Quirkos software. The findings demonstrate the overall value of community school hubs in addressing basic needs, increasing the potential for academic success. While intended as a universal benchmark, this approach systematically overlooks and delegitimizes the rich literacy history and traditions rooted in Black families and communities. Through the application of frameworks such as New Literacy Studies, Gee's Theory of Discourse Communities, Yosso's Community  Cultural Wealth model, and Critical Race Theory, this article reframes Black family literacy through a social, cultural, and historical lens. Third grade serves as a critical literacy benchmark in Indiana, where students who do not pass the Indiana Reading Evaluation and Determination (IREAD) assessment may face retention. The consequences of retention are particularly pronounced for students living in high-poverty communities, where inequitable access to literacy opportunities often compounds existing academic challenges. This article examines a six-week, relationship-centered literacy intervention implemented at an underserved Catholic school in South Bend, Indiana. Through a partnership with Tutor-ND, trained community tutors provided one-to-one, evidence-based literacy instruction to students at risk of retention following unsuccessful performance on IREAD. This study aimed to evaluate whether a continuing education module could improve occupational therapy practitioners’ perceived knowledge, awareness, confidence, and clinical utilization of 3D printing in occupational therapy practice, while also examining how access to resources may influence implementation A 14-week cross-sectional pre–post design was used with occupational therapy practitioners participating in a one-hour educational session followed by a three-week trial of 3D printer access. Participants completed pre- and post-surveys assessing perceived knowledge, awareness, and confidence, and maintained a utilization log to track clinical use.

Proposed herein are a system and techniques that facilitate stability-aware metadata synchronization in agent-based networks. The system includes a closed-loop adaptive stability orchestration layer that utilizes a time-sensitive exponential-decay mechanism and historical recovery telemetry to dynamically tune suppression and reuse thresholds, thereby reducing control-plane churn and cascading failures. The present disclosure describes a method and system for comprehensive employee performance assessment using adaptive multi-channel data integration. The system collects data from at least three independent sources (psychometric tests, physical activity monitoring, operational workload metrics, communication activity, and behavioral logs). It employs Shannon entropy-based filtering to exclude noisy sources, Tukey's interquartile range method for outlier removal, and sliding-window normalization. Dynamic weights are calculated daily based on statistical dependence between each data source and actual employee productivity. An integrated performance index is computed with seasonal adjustment. Sewage sludge management represents a major challenge in Europe, carrying significant environmental and legal implications that require strong regulatory enforcement. Here, we explore the legislative measures, technological developments, and environmental impacts of sewage sludge management in Central Europe (Czechia, Slovakia, Germany, Austria, and Poland). Sludge management is regulated at the EU level through a series of directives (e.g., Council Directive 86/278/EEC, which forms the basis of national regulatory frameworks). This study aimed to compare the clinical content quality and linguistic readability of PILs for neuropathic pain medications between Türkiye (TİTCK) and the United States (DailyMed).

Background/aim: Adrenal incidentalomas are increasingly detected during imaging studies performed for various indications, and their frequency in endocrinology practice has risen in recent years. While adenomas account for approximately 80% of adrenal incidentalomas, the remaining 20% include lesions such as primary malignancies, metastases, and pheochromocytomas that should not be overlooked. Given the risks associated with adrenal biopsy, accurate diagnosis with noninvasive methods is essential. In this retrospective study, we evaluated the Hounsfield unit (HU) values and lesion sizes measured on noncontrast computed tomography (CT) to identify a more accurate threshold than the widely used 10 HU.

Background/aim: The aim was to understand the factors underlying the dynamics of organ donation behavior by focusing on three different aspects. Three models were tested in this regard, namely (i) individual willingness for the donation of one’s own organs, (ii) willingness to approve organ donation for close relatives, and (iii) a family veto gap.

Materials and methods: A national-level adult sample from the Eurobarometer 72.3 survey (collected in 2009) conducted in Türkiye was utilized. Standard and penalized logistic regression models were employed to conduct the analyses.

Background/aim: The effects of L-theanine (LTN), a natural compound found in tea leaves, on biochemical parameters and cognitive functions were investigated in an aluminum chloride (AlCl3)-induced Alzheimer’s disease-like experimental model.

Materials and methods: A total of 32 male Wistar rats were allocated into four groups: control, AlCl3-induced AD-like group, LTN-treated AD-like group, and donepezil-treated AD-like group. Donepezil was used as a reference drug. ​Some clonal apple rootstocks are traditionally propagated using the layering technique. However, traditional propagation methods are seasonal and require a lot of space and labor. Following the downgrade of Level 3 Evacuation orders at Flett Middle School and Indian Trail and Woodridge elementary schools on Aug. 9, district staff worked with Fulcrum Environmental Consulting to conduct visual inspections and air-quality testing at these sites. More than 100 interior and exterior locations were tested, with indoor air quality within the Good-to-Moderate range under the EPA Air Quality Index. Inspectors also found no indication of unusual ash, soot or other settled particulates inside or outside the buildings.

Maintenance of protein homeostasis is essential for cellular function and depends on the coordinated regulation of protein synthesis and degradation. The major intracellular pathways responsible for protein degradation are the ubiquitin-proteasome system (UPS) and autophagy. Disruption of these processes has been implicated in a broad range of diseases, including neuromuscular disorders. Background: The complexity of healthcare delivery demands that practitioners collaborate effectively across disciplines to ensure patient safety and optimize outcomes. Interprofessional education (IPE) has become a cornerstone of health professions training, with the Interprofessional Education Collaborative (IPEC) Core Competencies providing a widely adopted framework for preparing learners for team-based care. There remains a critical need for instruments that are valid and capable of reliably assessing observable team-based behaviors.
