Better It Disaster Recovery And Procedures To Improve Response After Computer Crime, Allan Eduardo Arroyo-Melendez Jan 2026

Better It Disaster Recovery And Procedures To Improve Response After Computer Crime, Allan Eduardo Arroyo-Melendez

Walden Dissertations and Doctoral Studies

A lack of an effective disaster recovery plan (DRP) can negatively impact business outcomes following a cyberattack. Information technology (IT) managers are concerned that the lack of DRP may increase the risk of ransomware, fines, and public distrust. Grounded in the unified theory of acceptance and use of technology, the purpose of this qualitative pragmatic inquiry study is to explore strategies that some IT managers use to implement a DRP. The participants are four IT managers in the southeast United States. Data were collected through semistructured interviews and a review of publicly available documents. Through thematic analysis, three themes were …

The Environmental Mental Health Services Needed For Youth Ages 18-25 Aging Out Of The Foster Care System, Keelin Leger

Walden Dissertations and Doctoral Studies

Youth transitioning out of foster care experience increased mental health challenges that affect their ability to age out successfully to independence. In this qualitative modified action study, the environmental mental health services needed for adolescents, aged 18 to 25, aging out of the foster care system in Lafayette Parish, Louisiana were explored. This study was guided by the Families Rising framework. Purposeful sampling was used to recruit 20 participants who provided insights to this study. Participants were reached by posting flyers on social media and the online platform forums, and they signed the consent form to participate. The data were …

Trapped And Traumatised: A Scoping Review Of The Psychological Sequelae Of Entrapment Following Motor Vehicle Collision, Thomas A.M. Dixon, Kara Hole, Louise Johnson, Tim Nutbeam

Peninsula Medical School

Background: Motor vehicle collisions (MVCs) are a significant public health challenge, resulting in substantial mortality and morbidity. Entrapment occurs in 12–33% of all MVCs and is associated with greater injury severity, longer on-scene time, and increased mortality. However, the psychological consequences of entrapment remain poorly characterised. Objectives: This scoping review seeks to establish the current understanding of the psychological sequelae of entrapment following MVCs and draws on insights from related fields of study in order to inform future research and clinical practice. Methods: A scoping review was undertaken following established methodological guidance. Searches were completed on NHS Knowledge and Library …

Galway: Making A Capital Of Culture (Patrick Collins, Orpen Press, 2023), Connell Vaughan

Research Outputs: 2025-Present

Patrick Collins’ recent book details the development of the cultural industries and placemaking in the Galway region over the past century or so. Focusing on the “peripheral” position of the region, its long relationship to film making, and informed by Galway’s successful application for the European Capital of Culture in 2020, Collins argues for the unique nature of the region as a site of cultural production and consumption. While the book offers moments of insight, particularly in its discussion of ‘festivalisation’, it ultimately lacks the analytical depth and coherence needed to fully capture Galway’s complex cultural identity. No sustained critical …

Background

Dihydroorotate dehydrogenase (DHODH) is a mitochondrial enzyme that connects de novo pyrimidine biosynthesis with the electron transport chain (ETC) function. However, its broader role in prostate cancer (PCa) signaling and response to therapy remains unclear.

Methods

We combined transcriptomic, metabolomic, epigenomic, and functional analyses with clinical outcome data to explore the effects of DHODH depletion in ancestry-annotated European American (EA) and African American (AA) prostate cancer cell line models.

Results

DHODH was markedly overexpressed in malignant prostate epithelial cells and was abundant in tumors. Its knockdown hindered cell proliferation by causing pyrimidine depletion, while unexpectedly increasing oxidative phosphorylation, ETC …

2020-Current year OA Pubs

Chondrosarcomas are rare cartilaginous neoplasms with limited treatment options. Isocitrate dehydrogenase 1/2 (mIDH1/2) mutations occur in 65% of chondrosarcomas. Here we report safety and efficacy of olutasidenib, an mIDH1 inhibitor, evaluated in patients with locally advanced or metastatic mIDH1 chondrosarcoma (Clinicaltrials.gov identifier: NCT03684811). The primary endpoint was objective response rate by tumor evaluation; secondary endpoints included adverse events, progression-free and overall survival. Patients received olutasidenib 150 mg twice daily. Twenty-three patients were enrolled; 16 were diagnosed with conventional chondrosarcoma (cCS). Median age was 57 (range, 30-71) years. In 21 response-evaluable patients, 11 (52%) had stable disease, 8 (38%) had progressive …

A Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, And Threats (Swot) Analysis Of Chatgpt In Academic Help-Seeking, Fan Yang

International Journal of Teaching and Learning in Higher Education

This study explores the use of ChatGPT as a help-seeking tool in educational contexts, examining both its potential benefits and costs through a SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats) analysis. The purpose is to provide a comprehensive understanding of the various internal and external factors that either promote or hinder the use of ChatGPT for academic help-seeking. The strengths of ChatGPT, such as its 24/7 availability to provide immediate responses, non-judgmental tone, and the ability to provide personalized help based on specific prompts, position itself as a valuable resource for help-seekers. However, the low quality of the responses generated by …

Seizing The "Organic" Moment: Cuba's Agricultural Crossroads And Certified Organic Export Potential, Wesley J. Hevia, Michael T. Olexa, Thomas T. Ankersen, William A. Messina Jr. Jan 2026

Seizing The "Organic" Moment: Cuba's Agricultural Crossroads And Certified Organic Export Potential, Wesley J. Hevia, Michael T. Olexa, Thomas T. Ankersen, William A. Messina Jr.

Florida Journal of International Law

Cuba has been referred to as "the world's first national experiment in sustainable agriculture." Given the critical shortages in chemical inputs to Cuba's agricultural sector following the loss of Soviet economic support and subsidization, this may well be a fitting description. Cuba's use of the term "organic" to describe some of its agricultural production can be misleading. Not all of Cuba's "organic" products would satisfy the organic certification requirements for most developed countries. That being said, Cuba is shipping certified organic fresh citrus and citrus juices into EU markets. With proper investments and implementation of the appropriate procedures and protocols, …

Cuba, Puerto Rico, The Civil Code, And The Problem Of Transculturation, Pedro A. Malavet Jan 2026

Cuba, Puerto Rico, The Civil Code, And The Problem Of Transculturation, Pedro A. Malavet

Florida Journal of International Law

In this paper, I have two purposes. First, I offer a simple warning of the dangers posed by cultural imperialism in the legal exchanges that we are beginning. Second, and more positively, I invite my Cuban colleagues to educate me about what happened to the Civil Code in Cuba in the period between 1898 and 1959. The positive aspect should contribute to a comparative study of law in which we can understand the respective Cuban and U.S. legal cultures, using the mixed experience of Puerto Rico with Spanish civil law and the U.S. common law as part of the process …
