Quality Improvement Project: Reducing Test Anxiety: Faculty Training For Supporting Students, Chichi Markham

Doctor of Nursing Practice Projects

Test anxiety significantly affects nursing students’ academic performance and well-being. Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT) offer a non-pharmacological method for alleviating anxiety; however, research on faculty-centered approaches in nursing education is limited. The purpose of this quality improvement project is to evaluate the impact of EFT training on nursing faculty’s knowledge, attitudes, and confidence regarding test anxiety, as well as on student exam performance. Guided by Lewin’s Change Theory, Stetler’s Model, and the Plan-Do-Study-Act (PDSA) cycle, the initiative aimed to enhance faculty capacity to identify and address test anxiety within a prelicensure nursing program. A pre-post quality improvement design involved faculty …

Background

“That’s just your perception” is a frequent response when told “That’s unprofessional.” Yet unprofessional behavior adversely affects individual learning and team functioning, while increasing avoidable patient complications and malpractice claims.   But what if professionalism is reframed as trust? Is there agreement on which behaviors would adversely affect trust; thus, providing a different way to approach this quagmire? Is the person competent with humility? Is reliable? Do they care about others (beneficence)? Using an established four component model of trust as a framework, we wondered if key GME stakeholders would agree on what were untrustworthy behaviors.

Objectives

1.           To identify …

The arcuate nucleus of the hypothalamus plays a central role in sensing and integrating nutritional, hormonal, and neural signals that regulate feeding, energy homeostasis, growth, and reproduction, all of which show pronounced sex differences. However, the cellular mechanisms underlying these responses remain poorly understood. We performed snRNA-seq of the mediobasal hypothalamus, focusing on the arcuate nucleus, in female and male mice under different nutritional states. Analysis of 42 cell types revealed that Agrp neurons were most sensitive to nutritional changes, dopaminergic neurons showed strong sex-specific differences, and KNDy neurons were highly responsive to both sex and nutrition. Pomc neurons displayed …

“It’S Like Being Interrogated For A Crime:” The Job Interview Experiences Of Late Diagnosed Autistic Women, Brianna M. Sandner Feb 2026

“It’S Like Being Interrogated For A Crime:” The Job Interview Experiences Of Late Diagnosed Autistic Women, Brianna M. Sandner

USF Tampa Graduate Theses and Dissertations

Autistic adults face disproportionately high unemployment rates, with traditional job interviewsserving as a significant barrier due to their emphasis on social norms and the importance of first impressions. Research on barriers late-diagnosed autistic women—a population historically marginalized in both autism and employment research—encounter during job interviews is nascent. This study examines four key areas through the voices of participants: challenges encountered during interviews, coping mechanisms, masking behaviors, and the impact of receiving a late diagnosis on their understanding of past job-seeking experiences. Women described experiencing difficulties with an inaccessible interview structure, navigating social and professional norms, and answering questions on …

Intelligent Emergency Call Routing In Overlapping Wi-Fi, Terrestrial, And Non-Terrestrial Networks, Aishwarya Mallampati, Sooraj Sasindran, Dang Tu Nguyen, Soumyadeep Paul, Karthick Musuvathi Janakan, Pranit Rane Feb 2026

Intelligent Emergency Call Routing In Overlapping Wi-Fi, Terrestrial, And Non-Terrestrial Networks, Aishwarya Mallampati, Sooraj Sasindran, Dang Tu Nguyen, Soumyadeep Paul, Karthick Musuvathi Janakan, Pranit Rane

Defensive Publications Series

Mobile network stacks sometimes struggle to manage handovers effectively in hybrid environments where terrestrial networks (TN) and non-terrestrial networks (NTN) coexist. A mechanism that intelligently routes emergency calls (E911) on a mobile device capable of operating across heterogeneous networks such as Wi-Fi, terrestrial networks (TN), and non-terrestrial networks (NTN) can ensure a high call success rate and good voice quality. This disclosure describes techniques that evaluate real-time network states, including Wi-Fi signal quality, TN service availability (full vs. limited), and NTN voice capability, to facilitate reliable emergency communication in hybrid environments. The techniques include a proactive scanning mechanism to discover …
