Wake-On-Anomaly Federated Architecture For Privacy-Preserving Poultry Health Early Warning, Mahmoud Aziz Louati May 2026

Wake-On-Anomaly Federated Architecture For Privacy-Preserving Poultry Health Early Warning, Mahmoud Aziz Louati

Masters Theses

Highly pathogenic avian influenza outbreaks, respiratory disease, heat stress, and silent equipment failures share one operational reality: they are detected too late because today’s poultry-health workflow is reactive, manual, and dependent on producers volunteering commercially sensitive data. This thesis presents a wake-on-anomaly federated architecture that addresses both the detection-latency problem and the privacy–adoption deadlock that has so far prevented cross-farm collaboration. The architecture is organized in two tiers. Tier 1 is a lightweight LSTM autoencoder that continuously screens four routine telemetry channels (water, feed, house temperature, activity proxy) and emits a per-window reconstruction-error score. A debounced k-of-m trigger with cooldown …

A Govsecops-Oriented Governance, Risk, And Compliance Platform For Continuous Authorization In Dod Il4/Il5 Environments, Anand Janjal

Journal of Cybersecurity Education, Research and Practice

Department of Defense (DoD) Impact Level 4 and Impact Level 5 (IL4/IL5) systems require continuous assurance of cybersecurity posture under stringent operational and regulatory constraints. While the NIST Risk Management Framework (RMF) and DoD DevSecOps guidance emphasize continuous authorization supported by real-time evidence, many existing Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) platforms remain documentation-centric and insufficiently integrated with operational telemetry. This paper presents a GovSecOps-oriented GRC architecture that integrates vulnerability ingestion, automated Plan of Action and Milestones (POA&M) lifecycle management, dynamic risk scoring, and continuous authorization dashboards within IL4/IL5 environments. Using a Design Science Research methodology, the study develops and evaluates …

Reinforcement Threshold Controlled Modernn Tuned With J* And QMax Bilingual Spatiotemporal Attention Fusion For Inclusive Real-Time Sign Language Interpretation, Harapriya Kar, P Viswanathan May 2026

Reinforcement Threshold Controlled Modernn Tuned With J* And QMax Bilingual Spatiotemporal Attention Fusion For Inclusive Real-Time Sign Language Interpretation, Harapriya Kar, P Viswanathan

Baghdad Science Journal

Deaf communities still struggle with communication, partly due to the inefficiency of current sign language recognition systems, their poor generalization, and their inability to manage regional and linguistictions. This work suggests a novel architecture that blends attention-based spatiotemporal processing (RTC-ModeRNN-BSF) with a reinforcement threshold–controlled ModeRNN to solve these problems. The model adapts its computation based on the complexity of the input gesture, using between 2 and 8 attention slots, while gradually reducing exploration during training ($\varepsilon$: 0.9→ 0.1). Dual-stream memory pathways are optimized using joint log-likelihood maximization (J-Star) and computational pruning (Q-Max) to capture both immediate sequential patterns (Ct …

Hs-Amm: Hierarchical Spatial Attention Mechanism Model For Facial Expression Recognition Based On Deep Learning, Ahmed Oday, Azizi Abdullah, Shahnorbanun Sahran

Baghdad Science Journal

Facial expression recognition (FER) is a significant challenge due to the complexity of multi-class categorization and the subtle differences between emotional factors, with existing deep learning models often struggling to leverage hierarchical local features for accurate distinction. To find a solution, this study proposes a two-method approach, aiming to enhance FER accuracy by refining classification through the arousal-valence dimension and improving feature extraction via an adaptive attention mechanism to resolve the difficulty of differentiating semantically close expressions. The proposed methodology combines (1) a two-level classification strategy, first, performing fine-grained classification, and second, multi-class categorization by grouping expressions into neutral, positive, …

Isometric Force Characterization Of Braided Pneumatic Actuators, Ben Bolen, Mohammad Elzein, Lawrence Pang, Alexander Hunt May 2026

Isometric Force Characterization Of Braided Pneumatic Actuators, Ben Bolen, Mohammad Elzein, Lawrence Pang, Alexander Hunt

Mechanical and Materials Engineering Faculty Publications and Presentations

Artificial muscles such as braided pneumatic actuators (BPAs) offer many advantages for robotic systems, including high durability and strength-to-weight ratios. However, their use in robotic systems is still extremely limited, in part due to their poor force, length, and pressure characterization. In this work, a test setup is created to compare force produced by Festo fluidic BPAs with leading models. Our analysis of the data has resulted in (1) the development of new equations to calculate force as functions of pressure and contraction for Festo BPAs with uninflated diameters of 10 mm and 20 mm, and (2) a novel equation …

To Be Closer, Sarah Moschel Miller May 2026

To Be Closer, Sarah Moschel Miller

LSU Master's Theses

to be closer explores the intersection of yearning and unease. This series of works uses the visual language of the body and its thresholds to explore how each of us builds interpersonal relationships and understandings of self. Pulling from abjection theory, the abject comes from the internal becoming external, the crossing of a bodily or personal threshold. My sculptures, vessels, and prints translate the visual language of the border of the body into a discussion of emotional ones. to be closer uses these corporeal thresholds and the language of the uncanny as vehicles to discuss the crossing of emotional …

Distributed File Carving, Brad J. Baudin May 2026

Distributed File Carving, Brad J. Baudin

LSU Master's Theses

File carving is a fundamental technique in the digital forensics community, enabling analysts to recover deleted files from disk images without relying on filesystem metadata; however, as storage capacities continue to increase, modern file carving tools face significant scalability challenges, with carving time growing substantially alongside disk image size, particularly in the presence of file fragmentation. Fragmentation, a common behavior in modern filesystems, distributes file data across non-contiguous disk blocks to maximize space utilization, and in large disk images this distribution can span wide logical distances, increasing the search space and reducing carving efficiency, causing traditional approaches to struggle within …

Smartdesk: Automatic Ticket Classification And Resolution Prediction Using Data Analytics, Danarir Almuhairi May 2026

Smartdesk: Automatic Ticket Classification And Resolution Prediction Using Data Analytics, Danarir Almuhairi

Theses

Public and service-oriented organizations increasingly rely on digital ticketing systems to manage large volumes of citizen and customer requests. Despite this, many ticket management processes remain partially manual, leading to delays in case routing, inefficient resource allocation, and inconsistent resolution times. These challenges can negatively impact service quality, operational efficiency, and user satisfaction, particularly in large-scale public sector environments. This study proposes SmartDesk, a data-driven framework for automatic ticket classification and resolution time prediction using data analytics and natural language processing (NLP) techniques. The research leverages publicly available helpdesk and service ticket datasets to simulate real-world service environments where incoming …

2020-Current year OA Pubs

The human genome reference established a shared coordinate system for genome function, but it is incomplete and not fully representative of human diversity. Here, we benchmark how genome representation and corresponding analytical frameworks for each representation shape functional genomics using chromatin accessibility sequencing (ATAC-seq), RNA sequencing, whole-genome bisulfite sequencing, and chromosome conformation capture (Hi-C) data from lymphoblastoid cell lines derived from five individuals with fully phased genome assemblies. We compare results across hg38, CHM13, the draft human pangenome, and each individual's maternal and paternal assemblies. Because current pipelines and quality control conventions are tuned to hg38, several of these comparisons …

The Impact Of Sustainable Responsible Investment On The Environmental And Financial Performance Of Listed Companies (In The Context Of European Regulatory Framework), Leila Kamara May 2026

The Impact Of Sustainable Responsible Investment On The Environmental And Financial Performance Of Listed Companies (In The Context Of European Regulatory Framework), Leila Kamara

Engaged Management ReView

Although socially responsible investment (SRI) first emerged in the United States in the 1970s, its influence is now global and booming. The most striking illustration is the increase of signatories to the United Nations Principles for Responsible Investment (PRI): The number of signatories surged from around 100 in 2006 to more than 5,000 in 2025 (Peillex & Comyns, 2020), confirming that SRI is now central to investment strategies. The landscape of environmental, social, and governance (ESG) investment has seen the emergence of new stakeholders, including data providers. However, persistent limitations regarding data transparency, accessibility, and comparability have prevented investors from …

Virtual/Augmented Reality Paired Driving Using Digital Key Enabled Device For Pairing/Authentication, Nick Miller, Emelie Jess Ashdown May 2026

Virtual/Augmented Reality Paired Driving Using Digital Key Enabled Device For Pairing/Authentication, Nick Miller, Emelie Jess Ashdown

Defensive Publications Series

This disclosure describes a system for safely driving a vehicle from a remote location using an extended reality (XR) headset, virtual reality (VR) goggles, augmented reality (AR) glasses, or a hardware simulator. Existing remote driving, tele-operation, or remote vehicle control methods often rely on simple passwords, which can be less secure. This new technique uses a high-security digital car key stored on a physical device—such as a smartphone, an object tracking tag, or a small hardware “puck”—that should be placed inside the vehicle before it can be operated remotely. This creates a physical requirement that ensures only someone with authorized …

Optimized, Context-Aware Large Language Model (Llm) Architecture For Artificial Intelligence (Ai)-Native Sixth-Generation (6g) Networks, Swapnil Barai, Ravi Shekhar, Dishant Parikh, Gaurav Kumar Rungta

Defensive Publications Series

The evolution toward sixth-generation (6G) networks introduces agentic communication, in which autonomous software agents interact and execute actions based on real-time environmental data. Large language models (LLMs) provide reasoning capability for such agents, but deploying an individual LLM for each agent can be operationally and economically infeasible. This disclosure presents a consolidated, context-aware LLM architecture that centralizes LLM resources within a 6G core and logically separates the resources into control plane (CP) and user plane (UP) instances. Using a shared resource model and a context-tagging mechanism based on device type, radio access technology (RAT), and function type, the architecture supports …

Multi-Agent Safety Architecture Using Geometric Projections And Cryptographic Egress Control, Neel Mohbe May 2026

Multi-Agent Safety Architecture Using Geometric Projections And Cryptographic Egress Control, Neel Mohbe

Defensive Publications Series

Decentralized, multi-agent artificial intelligence (AI) systems can introduce structural vulnerabilities, such as emergent toxicity and alignment erosion, that existing safety paradigms may not fully address. A multi-agent safety architecture is described that can treat safety as a geometric and cryptographic property of a network's communication and consensus fabric. A method can involve mathematically defining a safety concept as a subspace within a model’s activation manifold to create an orthogonal projection operator. This operator may filter agent states to help mitigate harmful emergent content, a cryptographic egress layer with low-rank proofs can be used to verify the filter's application before messages …

Enhancing Social Activity Through Climate-Adaptive Design In Hot-Humid Campus Open-Spaces: A Case Study Of The University Of Basrah In Iraq, Noor A. Almansor, Farah Ahmed Thiab, Riyam Rajab Fenjan

HBRC Journal

Outdoor open spaces between university buildings support students' community interactions and academic achievements. However, in hot-humid climate zones, some of these spaces lack activity and experience social withdrawal due to thermal discomfort. This is seen on the University of Basrah campus. To address this, the study aimed to identify the most suitable climate-adaptive design pattern to improve thermal comfort and, in turn, enhance students' social presence in the University of Basrah's neglected, peripheral outdoor campus spaces. A convergent mixed-method case study was applied. First, measurable environmental and social factors were identified from related studies. Next, two open spaces in the …

The proposed architecture integrates EfficientNet-B3 and ResNet-50 through feature-level fusion, enabling the model to capture both fine-grained texture patterns and high-level structural characteristics …

Ambient Pre-Conscious Intelligence (Api), Johny Manuel-Devadoss, Deepthi Prasad, Jayden Jack Johnson May 2026

Ambient Pre-Conscious Intelligence (Api), Johny Manuel-Devadoss, Deepthi Prasad, Jayden Jack Johnson

Defensive Publications Series

Current artificial intelligence systems are, in practice, still largely reactive in nature. Even the most advanced assistants typically require explicit user prompts, clearly observable interaction events, or high-confidence inference of user intent before they engage in meaningful computational support. As a result, there is an inherent delay between the moment a cognitive need begins to emerge and the moment a system is able to respond. This delay is not merely a technical limitation; it introduces measurable friction into everyday human–computer interaction. In complex, information-dense environments, this friction accumulates, contributing to increased task-switching costs, reduced continuity of thought, and elevated cognitive …
