Clergy Sexual Abuse And The Catholic Church: What Do We Know And Where Do We Need To Go?, Thomas G. Plante
Psychology
Few recent topics have received the kind of media attention, heated debate, and discussion than the topic of sex-offending clergy, their victims, and supervisors. It is a story about too many bishops (and priests) behaving badly when they are purported to be the moral, religious, and ethical leaders of society. It is a remarkable story. However, it is a complex story that has had little scholarship and discourse driven by thoughtfulness, civility, and reason.

A Discipleship Model For Missionaries Establishing Churches In Thailand, Yong Woong Lee
A Discipleship Model For Missionaries Establishing Churches In Thailand, Yong Woong Lee
Doctoral Dissertations and Projects
This project focuses on using a discipleship program for new church plants in Thailand. This is one way to help accomplish world evangelization. This author's experience in Thailand has been under the ministry of Global Partners (GP) and his ministry includes both church planting and campus ministry.
The author develops an indigenous discipleship model for missionaries and the Thai church leaders to use based on the surveys and interviews. A successful mission program depends on training faithful and powerful native leaders.
Discipleship Training through effective and Biblical methods is the best way to shift the Thai Christian's paradigm which is …

Enough Is Enough: 24 Hours/Day Is Enough, James Y.S. Wong
Doctor of Ministry
Today many people are crying for more time. Many pastors are also. The contents of this writing endeavor to address the issue of time starvation among overworked pastors. My conviction is that the God-given 24 hours a day is enough. God will never ask from us what we cannot give. Often we are victims of our own aspirations. The discussions and solutions provided in this writing fit into the shared values of pastoral ministry: a) our faithfulness to our ministerial call; b) our dedication to the Lord; and c) our love for His church and His people. Based upon these …

A Theology Of Ministerial Practice, Paul Kelm
A Theology Of Ministerial Practice, Paul Kelm
Doctor of Ministry Major Applied Project
Competing agendas and changing culture create a need for churches to consciously determine why they will do what they do the way they do.
This project develops four doctrinal bases for a theology of ministerial practice. It summarizes literature on philosophy of ministry. Research in five Lutheran churches identifies gaps in the way people view ministry. Chapter four provides a comprehensive rationale and definition for a theology of ministerial practice.
One church's experience demonstrates the value of thinking through and developing "guiding principles" that apply a church's theology to its culture in shaping ministerial practice.
