A Psychocultural Study Of Twenty-Eight Ryukyuan Students, Harry L. Naylor

Anthropology ETDs

This study concerns twenty-eight young men from the Ryukyu Islands. Both their homeland and their traditional way of life were disrupted by World War II and its aftermath. Their current modes of adjustment to a new way of life are of interest not only from a psychocultural standpoint, but also because administrative responsibility for the people of the Ryukyu Islands now rests with the United States under the terms of the recent Japanese peace treaty.
