Propolis as co-chemotherapy is believed to reduce the severity of chemotherapy's adverse effects. The combination of propolis and chemotherapy is expected to induce apoptosis, arrest the cell cycle, and downregulate the expression of Phosphatidylinositol-3 kinase (PI3K), thereby reducing the proliferation of colon cancer cells (WiDr). The WiDr cells were obtained from the parasitology lab of the medical school at Universitas Gadjah Mada in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. Propolis is collected by beekeepers in Kabanjahe, North Sumatra. The current study is designed to synthesize four new bidentate metal complexes [MCl2L1] M = Co, Cu and L1 = 1,2-Diphenyl-2-(phenylimino)-1-ethanone or [MCl2L2] M = Co, Cu and L2 = 1,2-Diphenyl-2-(p-tolylimino)-1-ethanone. In addition, theoretical study preforms to predict the chemical reactivity and stability of the prepared complexes. Thus, the density function theory (DFT) studies, quantum chemical descriptors like chemical hardness (η), electronic chemical potential (μ), and electronegativity (χ) are considered. This research explores the link between particulate matter (PM10) exposure and number of black dots in buccal epithelial cell nuclei in recycling workers (PDU), at the Medan City landfill, Indonesia. The study aims to identify the correlation PM10 levels, pollutant characteristics at the landfill, the appearance of AgNOR-expressed black dots in PDU groups. The measurements of PM10 exposure were carried out in open landfills in Medan city, and the subject of study is recycling workers who worked in landfills. Claude Debussy (1862–1918), a leading composer in the French impressionist movement, had a considerable impact on composition in the twentieth century. He wrote masterpieces in genres ranging from vocal music to chamber music to opera and orchestral works. Debussy’s piano works, particularly his four collections—Estampes (1903), Images Books I and II (1901 and 1905), Préludes Books I and II (1909–10 and 1913), and Études (1915)—brought significant innovations to the solo piano repertoire of his time and remain staples over one hundred years later. This dissertation looked at patterns of cannabis use and impacts on communication and relationship satisfaction in couples that have been co-habitating for at least a year. A sample of 299 individual participants aged 21-69 were split into groups to look at concordant (where both partners either used or abstained from cannabis use) and discordant (where one partner used and the other abstained) relationship dynamics. The research revealed significant differences in communication and relationship satisfaction across these groups. Individuals in concordantabstaining partnerships reported higher levels of communication and relationship satisfaction compared to concordant-using couples. The glaciers in the Hindu Kush Himalaya are critical for sustaining the water supply of South Asia's major rivers, upon which over 230 million people, both in the mountainous regions and lowland areas, depend. Climate change is driving rapid glaciers melt near the summit of Mount Everest, located at an elevation of approximately 7,906 meters (25,938 feet). This has resulted in glacier thinning occurring up to 80 times faster than the original ice formation. However, due to their disposition in a complex topographic setting and inaccessible terrain, continuous glacier observations pose significant challenges.

This study examines how social media platforms like Reddit can be utilized to compare the discourse around fentanyl and recreational drug use. A dataset of 2549 personal experience posts were collected on fentanyl and other recreational drug use. Where the methodology included targeted queries, text processing, and natural language process (NLP) techniques such as sentiment analysis and topic modeling. Results indicate that fentanyl related discourse on Reddit was more likely to carry a cautious or neutral sentient, emphasizing its health risks or addiction. In Parkinson’s Disease (PD), research has shifted to investigate how biomarkers commonly seen in Alzheimer’s Disease (AD), such as amyloid beta (AB), may be associated with cognitive functioning in PD. AB is considered a reliable biomarker for AD pathology, however in PD there is a lacking biomarker that can accurately reflect severity of cognitive impairment. Squamous metaplasia (SM) of the airway epithelium is an abnormal condition that is caused by exposure to airborne toxicants, cigarette smoke, pollutants, and pathogens. Since SM of the airway was first documented in the 1970s, data on this epithelial disease remain limited. More research is needed to fully understand this epithelial disorder and to prevent its progression into severe illnesses such as chronic bronchitis (CB), COPD, and squamous cell carcinoma. As sessile organisms, plants manage stress through complex signaling networks involving phytohormones such as phytosulfokine (PSK). PSK, a disulfated pentapeptide, regulates plant growth, development, and stress responses by interacting with specific PSK receptors (PSKRs). In this study, we explored the trafficking dynamics of PSK, its post-application fate, and the synthesis of an analog. We administered both native PSK and a fluorescent version tagged with TAMRA (5(6)-carboxytetramethylrhodamine) to various Arabidopsis thaliana genotypes, including wild type, a PSKR-deficient mutant, and a strain overexpressing PSKR1 tagged with green fluorescent protein (GFP) over the wild-type background. Opioid overdose crisis continues to demand innovative solutions for rapid and effective drug administration. Naloxone (NAL), a critical opioid antagonist, has been the primary treatment for reversing opioid-induced respiratory depression. However, its current delivery methods, such as intravenous and intranasal formulations, are limited by their invasive nature, short half-life, and the need for repeated dosing. Phytosulfokine is a critical signaling peptide involved in plant growth, development, and stress responses. This thesis investigates the trafficking mechanisms of Phytosulfokine (PSK) in Arabidopsis thaliana, employing fluorescently labelled PSK for non-destructive imaging using a custom-built fiber-optic fluorescence microscope. The study aims to determine the mobility and fate of PSK in plant tissues. Experimental results reveal the short-range and long-range movement of PSK across leaves. Additionally, the project highlights the optimization of non-destructive imaging techniques and the synthesis of caged dexamethasone to facilitate optogenetic studies. Methods: In this cross-sectional study the data about mpox outbreak were recorded by the “World Health Organization, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and GSAID” from August 2023 to August 2024, analyzing the epidemiological trends from different countries worldwide. The Mississippi Sound provides nursery habitats for many coastal species and is recognized for its commercial fisheries. Previous freshening events linked to the Bonnet Carré Spillway, a Mississippi River flood diversion structure, proved catastrophic for oyster populations in the Mississippi Sound, but effects on mobile fish and shellfish species are not well-defined. The planned Mid-Breton Sediment Diversion (MBSD), an initiative to combat wetland loss, is also forecasted to lower salinities in the region, increasing the need to better understand responses of commercially and ecologically important species to freshening events. This research employs the ethnohistorical method to explore how the Odawa people perceived and carried out warfare from 1615 to 1700. While historians have examined the Odawa, these Native peoples have frequently not been the central focus in the secondary literature. Many primary sources also offer a vague answer as to how the Odawa conceived and carried out warfare. This study aims to clarify historiographical inconsistencies by quantitatively analyzing a database, constructed by the author, of specific primary references to known hostilities between the Odawa, other Native groups, and Europeans. Almost 10% of American youth are diagnosed with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). While not a learning disability, this diagnosis results in youth being labeled academically “at-risk.” While equine assisted services (EAS) promote an emotionally safe learning environment for at-risk youth, program availability is limited. Horse breed associations, however, offer programs nationwide for all youth, although these programs do not have a therapeutic intention. Therefore, the objectives of this study were to utilize a survey to determine program participation and associated development of life skills and goals for ADHD youth. Introduction
Fournier’s gangrene (FG) is a rapidly progressing necrotizing fasciitis. The Fournier's Gangrene Severity Index (FGSI), in conjunction with the Charlson Comorbidity Index (CCI), has been used as a mortality predictor during hospitalization. Patients with diabetes have also been shown to be at an increased risk for the development of FG. This study explores the potential of using FGSI, CCI, and patient diabetes status in predicting more extensive patient outcomes, including intensive care unit (ICU) admission and length of hospital stay.
Methods
From 2013 to 2023, inpatient admissions with the diagnosis of FG were selected from the EPIC Clarity database …
