The Effect Of Various Doses Of Caffeine Upon The Maximal Muscular Endurance Of College Females, Roberta Jane Perkins Jul 1974

The Effect Of Various Doses Of Caffeine Upon The Maximal Muscular Endurance Of College Females, Roberta Jane Perkins

Human Movement Studies & Special Education Theses & Dissertations

A limited number of investigations dealing with the effects of caffeine upon human physical performance have been conducted. Since caffeine is a central nervous system stimulant and it is a constituent of the popularly-consumed beverages - coffee, tea, and cola drinks, it would appear that numerous studies would have been conducted in order to determine the effect of caffeine upon human muscular performance. At any rate, there is a dearth of studies on this topic and the findings of the conducted experiments are equivocal and ambiguous.

The purpose of the present study was to determine the effects of various doses …

Legislative Note: Michigan's Criminal Sexual Assault Law, Kenneth A. Cobb, Nancy R. Schauer Jan 1974

Legislative Note: Michigan's Criminal Sexual Assault Law, Kenneth A. Cobb, Nancy R. Schauer

University of Michigan Journal of Law Reform

Under increasing pressure from women's rights groups and other reform organizations, the Michigan legislature has re-evaluated its centenarian rape statute, found it inadequate for the realities of the mid-twentieth century, and enacted a new sexual assault act. While people may refer to the act as "the new rape law," it should be noted at the outset that the statute is intended to prohibit a variety of sexual acts which involve criminal assault. Michigan's new criminal sexual assault law was formulated to distinguish among degrees of violence as motivated by hostility rather than passion; rape, like other crimes, is more heinous …

All Graduate Theses and Dissertations, Spring 1920 to Summer 2023

This intergenerational study compared the family planning and related attitudes of females who were daughter-mother-grandmother relatives. Other variables studied included Mormon orthodoxy, education, and place of residence.

Except for abortion, the generations had significantly different attitudes. The oldest generation's attitudes, which were the most conservative, differed significantly when contrasted with the more similar attitudes of the middle and younger generations. Mormon orthodoxy was the most dramatically significant factor in attitude differences. Education and residence were not significant sources of attitude variance; …

Jonathan Swift And Women, Gloria Hayden Jun 1966

Jonathan Swift And Women, Gloria Hayden

All Master's Theses

Before any proper study may be made of Swift's attitude toward women, as exemplified in his life and as expressed in his writings, it would seem advisable to review briefly woman's place in society during the period of Swift's mature life. Certainly no just conclusions could be reached regarding the problem of Swift and women unless the study were predicated on an awareness of the position of women in the economic, educational and social life of, roughly, the first half of the eighteenth century.

Comparisons Of Marital Role Conceptions Of Men And Women, Sandra Jorgensen Christensen

During the past century, vast and rapid changes have transpired in our national life. They have been occasioned by extensive technological, social, and industrial changes and by the emergence of cheap, fast transportation, new techniques for preservation of food, and other basic inventions. Many changes, too, have been brought about in American courtship, marriage, and family living patterns. Some of the most far-reaching changes have been those in the social and psychological roles of the individual in relation to the family.
