This qualitative study, viewed through a constructivist lens, was conducted with 16 nontraditional undergraduate students, comprising equal numbers from a two-year and a four-year higher education institution. The study delved into their perceptions of belonging, while exploring the commonalities and disparities of their experiences between the two types of institutions. Through semi-structured interviews, these participants shared their lived experiences to answer three research questions: 1) How do nontraditional undergraduate students at two-year and four-year higher education institutions describe their sense of belonging? 2) What influences their sense of belonging at these institutions, and 3) How does sense of belonging among …

The Undergraduate Research Journal

The aim of this research is to investigate the difference in measured happiness between students who pay the full tuition cost at the American University in Cairo (AUC) versus students who are on financial aid/scholarship in light of the devaluation of the Egyptian Pound. The literature review found that there are five key determinants for the happiness of university students: financial satisfaction, academic performance, leisure time, social support, and high levels of self-confidence and esteem. This poster presentation examines the systemic abuse in women’s soccer, a crisis that persists despite growing awareness. Through an analysis of the Sally Q. Yates Report (2022) and multiple case studies, we assess patterns of misconduct, failures of governing bodies, and the institutional responses that have enabled abuse. Notable cases include Jennifer Hermoso’s non-consensual kiss by Luis Rubiales (AP News, 2024) and sexual misconduct allegations against Bruce Mwape (McElroy, 2024). The careers of Rory Dames and Paul Riley exemplify how abusive coaches were repeatedly protected despite years of documented complaints (U.S. Soccer Federation, 2022). Background: The World Health Organization estimates a global shortage of 4.5 million nurses and 0.31 million midwives by 2030, which presents a significant problem for workforce planning. Despite aspirational United Kingdom (UK) government policy targets and ongoing efforts, the number of nursing and midwifery vacancies continues to increase. One contributing factor is student nurse and midwife attrition. The Influence Of Environmental Knowledge On Pro-Environmental Lifestyles Of Ui Vocational Students Domiciled In The Jabodetabek Area, Sartika Ekadyasa, Arius Krypton

The environmental crisis demands the younger generation, especially students, to play an active role in implementing an environmentally friendly lifestyle. This study aims to determine the influence of environmental knowledge on the pro-environmental lifestyle of students in the Jabodetabek area. Using a quantitative survey method on 100 students, the data was analyzed through simple linear regression. The results showed that environmental knowledge significantly influenced pro-environmental lifestyle (p < 0.05), while family support and access to environmentally friendly facilities also played important roles. These findings support the importance of environmental education at the college level to shape sustainable behavior.

Aims: This study aimed to evaluate the impact of community-based dental education (CBDE) on the learning experiences of undergraduate dental students and recent dental graduates from two diverse geographical regions. Methods: The study followed a cross-sectional design, conducted online using Google Forms, with ethical approval from Qatar University. A non-probability purposive sampling method was used to recruit dental students and recent graduates from three institutions in India and one in Qatar. Collaborative teamwork needs to be fostered early and often to meet contemporary practice ideals. This qualitative phenomenological designed study’s purpose was to investigate student physical therapists (SPTs) and student physical therapist assistants' (SPTAs) perceptions of an intraprofessional online activity reflective of contemporary home health and telehealth settings. A convenience sample of 25 SPTs from one program and 24 SPTAs from another program met synchronously online to view a video case of an ambulatory patient with dementia, develop a plan of care, and discuss appropriate interventions reflective of practice in Virginia. Background: Physically active breaks and lessons are evidence-based approaches to improving student's physical activity. Yet, schools and teachers face implementation challenges, requiring the need for effective implementation strategies.

Purpose: Use Implementation Mapping to develop an implementation strategy for physically active breaks and lessons in elementary schools.

Methods: With our partner school district, we assembled a planning group with expertise in education, public health, and implementation science.
