This study evaluated existing In Vitro educational materials in qualitative and quantitative parameters that currently exist to educate potential clinicians of nationally accredited Nuclear Medicine programs; A review of over 300 articles, texts, and manuals pertaining to In Vitro Nuclear Medicine procedures clearly demonstrated that no In Vitro laboratory manual for undergraduate students presently existed; Every Nuclear Medicine program director in the United States was surveyed. They were asked for their overall philosophy in terms of developing an In Vitro manual and requested to evaluate the significance of 22 general principles/concepts and 34 specific laboratory testing procedures; From the responses …

This was an initial study that examined the effect of the type of instruction used in biology I classrooms on learner development of critical thinking, as measured by the Watson-Glaser Critical Thinking Appraisal. Form A of the instrument was used as the pretest, and Form B of the instrument was used as the posttest. The independent variable was teaching method and consisted of two levels: (1) "the writing process," as a teaching method adapted for science instruction, and (2) the "traditional" teaching method, which relied on lecture, discussion, textbook assignments, and verification laboratories; Three teachers from schools within the Clark …

Development Of Weekend Semesters In The Dietetic Technology - Nutrition Program At Malcolm X College For Chicago Full-Time Employees., Perla Miranda-Kushida

The implications of enrollment decline at Malcom X College has created a dilemma and major economic concern to the college that it launched a college-wide marketing approach to attract new types of students in addition to high school graduates. Responding to this campaign, the Dietetic Technology-Nutrition program targeted the employees working full-time in hospitals and health care facilities’ dietary departments through a needs survey. The survey confirmed an overwhelming interest of employees in the program for weekend classes because of their working hours.
