Articles also cover how the change affects bars, the Memorial Union Activities Board (MUAB), Oktoberfest, concerts, sports events and drinking in cars. An Investigation Of The Effect Of Music Upon The Academic, Affective, And Attendance Profiles Of Selected Fourth Grade Students, Rebecca Joy King Kooyman
UNLV Retrospective Theses & Dissertations
The purpose of this study was to determine if there is an effect on the academic, affective and attendance profiles of selected fourth grade students when baroque music is introduced subliminally into the classroom intermittently or continuously throughout the school day. Students were randomly assigned to three classrooms with one of three treatments: music continuously, music intermittently, or a no treatment, control group. Fourteen measures from the Children's Personality Questionnaire, two measures from the Stanford Achievement Test, and attendance and discipline records were used to assess outcomes of this study. This Note examines the constitutional limits on administrative regulation of publications by and for public high school students. Part I discusses the widely divergent standards adopted by different circuits. Part II describes the hard line the Supreme Court has taken against restraints on free expression in the adult context and the different circumstances that justify limiting freedom of expression in high schools. Part III discusses the timing of administrative regulation of student speech. This Part argues that prior restraint is constitutionally acceptable and, in fact, preferable to subsequent punishment so long as its use is governed by proper criteria. Part …
