Peer Tutoring To Increase Mathematics Performance: An Examination Of Generalized Changes In Classroom Behavior., Malinda Lee Mckenzie
Peer Tutoring To Increase Mathematics Performance: An Examination Of Generalized Changes In Classroom Behavior., Malinda Lee Mckenzie
Student Work
A peer-tutoring package was implemented to improve the accuracy of mathematics performance of two students, aged 11 and 14 years, in an engineered school classroom. A reversal design was employed to evaluate the effectiveness of peer tutoring for one student, with subsequent extension of the tutoring package to the second student. Examinations were made of changes in accuracy as a result of tutoring, as well as the correlated effects of treatment on on-task and disruptive behavior. Investigations were also conducted of the generalized effects of treatment to another math period (with similar problems) in which tutoring was never implemented, differentiated …

A Study Of The Relationships Between The Wallach & Kogan Tests Of Creativity, The Barron-Welsh Art Scale And Ego Strength, Gail L. Sunderman
Student Work
A test of the Wallach and Kogan Tests of Creativity was conducted using the Barron Welsh Art Scale as a criterion of creativity. The Wallach and Kogan Tests measure verbal fluency and uniqueness of ideas, supposedly the basis of creative behavior. The Barron-Welsh Art Scale, on the other hand, differentiates known creative people from non-creative along a dimension of preference complexity or simplicity. The Barron Ego Strength Scale was included as a measure of a trait found to be higher in creative people than in the normal population. High intercorrelations between the three measures were hypothesized. No relationship was found, …

Employment Qualifications For Community Service Agencies And Organizations In Midland And Odessa, Susan Garfield Edwards
Graduate Theses
The terms "social work," "casework," and "counseling" signify similar but separate professions, occupations, and techniques. Their places within the spectrum of community or helping services are clarified by a discussion of relevant literature. Based on these perspectives, a survey of 104 local helping service agencies and organizations was under taken to establish employment qualifications (educational, experiential, professional) for the helping professions. Follow-up was done in 10 situations where Master's Degrees in Social Work, Counseling, and Psychology were required for employment—to determine the particular value of the degree for the specific position. Indications from this study are: that, most positions available …

Doctoral Theses
Studies on consumer behavicur : 4 surveyThis Chapter briefly reviews the methodology, implications and limitations of various approaches to empirical demand analysis and also sunmarises the important Indian contributions to this branch of econo- metric applications. The Hicks-Allen theory of consumer equil ibrium has been outlined first to indicate the nature of empirically ob servable restrictione that ensure consistent consumer behaviour in an essentially static world deal- ing solely with non-durable oommodities. The role of the assumption of separability of the utility function in quantitative applications has al so been stressed here. Finally, the sope and limitation of this theory has …
