This thesis presents stories of those whose lives are governed by trauma, unfortunate life circumstances, and social pressure. It is a mixed form work that includes narrative nonfiction and poetry. It also utilizes some of the fiction techniques, such as setting, description, and inner point of view (e.g., seeing the world through the eyes of an unwanted animal).

words / ideas /poetry is a series of three creative writing exercises with an online and pen-and-paper version of each. The first uses word association to create a lexicon from which a poem and experimental prose piece emerge; the second uses rhymes to create three poems of increasing complexity and the third is a group activity that generates a collective poem about romantic relationships. The activities and instructions for administering and participating are accessed through an online hub that hosts the activities and related material.

Begin Again: blooming is a poetry thesis that explores the complexities of trauma, recovery, and identity through a feminist lens. Drawing from the lyric tradition, each poem serves as an emotional excavation, using voice, fragmentation, and address to create intimacy while resisting linear narrative and traditional poetic conventions.

The collection examines how pain imprints itself on the body and memory, with pieces like "Dear Dad," "Clean," and "My Baby" demonstrating the tension between tenderness and pain. Mantras are an ancient form of poetry believed to possess a powerful ability to cure diseases, protect oneself, ward off misfortune, and foster love. Beyond those practical interests, Javanese mantras also contain philosophical values regarding the relationship between humans and God, humans and humans, and humans and the universe. Feelings That Drive is an interdisciplinary, multimodal thesis that blends poetry, personal narrative, lyrical essays, and spiritual reflection to explore the complex intersections of Black identity, memory, trauma, resilience, and healing in the contemporary American South. Framed in five thematic sections—Worn, Anxiousness, Desperation, Hopeful, and Restored—the work traverses emotional and geographic landscapes, most notably the author’s home in New Orleans, to trace the cumulative effects of racialized trauma, familial rupture, and spiritual seeking.
