Tapestries: Interwoven voices of local and global identities
As I write poetry and short-stories, I take part in two worlds unapologetically--that of research in a higher institution and engagement with my family and the respective communities I am a part of. As I encountered difficulty in certain academic places that were not inclusive to writers like me, I found liberation in the sphere of artistic expression. In uncovering erased histories through creative writing, I find the sacred space to heal, resist, and empower as I make sense of my positionality through reflection.
