"Wooster Man to the Front," is about Rev. John R. Peale, a missionary was killed at Lien-Chou, China. In "Writing Poetry," a feature about how to write poetry. "Brahm Van Den Berg," is about concert pianist Berg performing with the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra at the Opera House.

New York City directories list Huestis both as an individual publishing at 104 Nassau, and as a member of Huestis & Cozans between 1850 and 1852. Vincent L. Dill was active as a stereotyper in New York between 1826 and 1863. Lacking back cover.

Letter From William C. Booth To Thomas Fenton Taylor, William C. Booth

Letter from William C. Booth to Thomas Fenton Taylor describing his relationship with Walter Whitman, Sr., and his son, Walt Whitman, the poet.
The letter is pasted into the front of Taylor’s copy of John Burroughs, Whitman: A Study. Volume Ten of the Riverby Edition of the Writings of John Burroughs (Houghton, Mifflin and Company, 1905). The Burroughs set was presented to Taylor by the publisher on March 8, 1906 per the bookplate in the first volume.

"State Banquet," is about the annual banquet being held by the Oratorical Association. In "Japan," Russian and Japanese students at the University of Pennsylvania have had multiple brushes. "Fence Debt Will be Liquidated," is about the Athletic Association's debt from the field fence about to be raised. In "The Poet's Corner," is a feature on student's poems.
