This poster explores the current state of palliative care for individuals living with mechanical circulatory support (MCS) devices. The systematic review describes disparities in palliative resources for the MCS population. Findings reveal the need for nurse-led, patient centered research to improve quality of life for MCS patients and families.

A three-day breast health and palliative care education symposium was conducted in Haiti (2018) to inform nursing curricula in an effort to improve breast health for Haitian women. This is an exploratory descriptive study of emotional and mental health palliative care needs in patients with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS). Results from 120 free-texted responses thematic analyzed indicate EDS patients have several mental health and emotional palliative care needs they are hesitant to discuss with their healthcare providers.

With the globalization of health care and modern society, nontraditional management of cancer symptoms is once again increasing in popularity. The National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN) has also recently updated their palliative care guidelines.
