The Stabilizing Power Of Christianity In Personality Disturbances, Richard Delventhal

Bachelor of Divinity

Christianity, or Christian theology, is not only theoretical but also highly practical. Christianity teaches the Way of Life, which means, not only the life to come, but also this life, here and now. In its fullest application to the individual, it not only prepares one for the future life in heaven, but also prepares one for a normal and more abundant life in this world.

Effect Of Expressive Methods Of Child Psychotherapy Upon Intellectual Efficiency, Viola Caprez Ames

Master's Theses or Doctor of Nursing Practice

By child psychotherapy is meant a method of treatment in readjusting the personality of children. The change in I.Q. means a change in the relation of mental age to …

Emotional Disturbance As Legal Damage, Herbert F. Goodrich Jan 1922

Emotional Disturbance As Legal Damage, Herbert F. Goodrich

Articles

MENTAL pain or anxiety the law cannot value, and does not pretend to redress, when the unlawful act complained of causes that alone. Lord Wensleydale's famous dictum in Lynch v. Knight will serve as a starting point for this discussion. His lordship's notion of mental pain is evidently that of a "state of mind" or feeling, hidden in the inner consciousness of the individual; an intangible, evanescent something too elusive for the hardheaded workaday common law to handle. Likewise, in that very interesting problem regarding recovery for damages sustained through fright, it is always assumed, tacitly or expressly, that mere …

Trauma And The Use Of Formal And Informal Resources In The Deaf Population: Perspectives From Mental Health Service Providers, Stephanie W. Cawthon, Bentley W. Fink, Paige Johnson, Sarah Schoffstall, Erica Wendel

JADARA

Using grounded theory analysis, the current study identifies the perspectives of therapists and counselors regarding the nature of informal and formal resources supporting the treatment of deaf individuals with trauma. Nineteen counselors and therapists were interviewed, and accessibility, formal support, informal networks, and gaps in resources were identified as salient themes. Subsequent analysis identified concerns with confidentiality as a strong theme. This study emphasizes the need for counselors and therapists to become mindful of utilizing resources to support the treatment of trauma while being concerned with confidentiality.
