An Examination Of Newspaper Accounts Of Nonviolent Social Movement Leaders, Patrick Kennelly

Leadership studies scholars consider transformational leadership theory a full range universal theory. It is one of the most taught leadership theories in American higher education. Transformational leadership scholars frequently use press accounts of historic leaders to examine how transformational they were. In this study, I use thematic analysis to examine press accounts of the leadership of three nonviolent social movements: the March on Washington, the Civil Defense Drills, and the Journey of Reconciliation. I compared the themes that emerged to the main tenets …

Group: American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC)
As the ground in healthcare continues to shift beneath our feet, we can now confidently describe the world we live in as peripandemic. Not quite pandemic and not quite postpandemic. Assuredly, the ship of hope that we'd return to a "normal" prepandemic state has sailed. Persistent workforce turbulence alongside persistent high-acuity and high-volume patients has created what one nurse leader describes as "the eye of the hurricane that never moves on."

Why And How Leaders Differentiate?, Srishti Banerjee
Why And How Leaders Differentiate?, Srishti Banerjee
Dissertations and Theses Collection (Open Access)
A key tenet of Leader-Member Exchange (LMX) Theory is that leaders treat followers differently, referred to as leader-member exchange differentiation (LMXD) (Yu et al., 2018). When leaders treat followers differently, they develop a varying quality of relationships within the team referred to as LMX quality (LMXQ). LMXQ has received the vast majority of research with findings being largely consistent that higher quality relationships benefit followers (Yu et al., 2018). In contrast, surprisingly, much less research has focused on how this actual differentiation (LMXD) impacts employee reactions and there are no conclusive findings regarding its effects (Bauer & Erdogan, 2015; Chen …

ABSTRACT
There is a clear and compelling need to approach equity, diversity, and inclusion not as problems to be solved, but rather as opportunities to be realized. The Developmental Disabilities Bill of Rights and Assistance Act of 2000,states the need for cultural competence, specifically to ensure that supports and services “are provided in a manner that assure maximum participation and benefit for persons with IDD.” Cultural and linguistic competence (CLC) are evidence-based or proven practices that reduce disparities, advance diversity, and promote equity. Achieving CLC requires strong and informed leadership to spark the necessary changes within systems, organizations, and practice. …
