The Antibacterial Resistance Leadership Group (ARLG) has prioritized infections caused by gram-positive bacteria as one of its core areas of emphasis. The ARLG Gram-positive Committee has focused on studies responding to 3 main identified research priorities: (1) investigation of strategies or therapies for infections predominantly caused by gram-positive bacteria, (2) evaluation of the efficacy of novel agents for infections caused by methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) and vancomycin-resistant enterococci, and (3) optimization of dosing and duration of antimicrobial agents for gram-positive infections. Herein, we summarize ARLG accomplishments in gram-positive bacterial infection research, including studies aiming to (1) inform optimal vancomycin dosing, …

From Curriculum To Career: Analysing The Contribution Of Delft University’S Robotics Msc Programme To The Career Path Of Its Alumni, Gillian Saunders-Smits, Linette Bossen, Joost De Winter

Research Papers

The increasing global demand for robotics expertise led the Delft University of Technology to launch a two-year Master of Science programme in Robotics in 2020. The programme was designed to educate versatile robotics engineers capable of overseeing the entire process from conception of robotics systems to implementation. The curriculum integrates disciplines such as machine perception, artificial intelligence, robot planning and control, human-robot interaction, and ethics, and emphasises personal development through a course called Portfolio, which was later rebranded as Vision and Reflection. The effectiveness of the programme was evaluated by conducting a survey among the first cohort of students. The …

Leadership And Structure In University Fundraising, Jeremy G. Kassel Oct 2023

Leadership And Structure In University Fundraising, Jeremy G. Kassel

M.S. in Leadership

Fundraising is an essential part of the operation of any non-profit organization, especially non-profit higher education institutions. Literature shows fundraising methods in higher education have evolved over time with the need to increase fundraising success. Fundraising organizations have many levels of leadership in their complicated organizational structures. Leaders include but are not limited to the board of trustees, the president, chiefs or vice presidents of development, directors, associate directors, assistant directors, and volunteer boards. The interactions between these leaders and their followers, such as the donors in the fundraiser/donor relationship, affect fundraising success. This research project explored literature regarding the …

The Boundary Of Blame: How Inka Elite Exploited The Instrumental Agency Of The Deceased In The Andean Afterlife As A Legitimation Strategy, Sarah Bender Oct 2023

The Boundary Of Blame: How Inka Elite Exploited The Instrumental Agency Of The Deceased In The Andean Afterlife As A Legitimation Strategy, Sarah Bender

Anthropology Undergraduate Senior Theses

In many Mesoamerican and Andean cultures, divine rulers were directly responsible for interceding with the natural and spiritual world to ensure prosperity for the people. When these interventions failed, the legitimacy of the rulership was undermined. To mitigate this occurrence, Inka god-kings carefully installed a social buffer of liability or "boundary of blame” around themselves. Integrating translated historical accounts from the Early Colonial period with existing archaeological evidence, I argue for a new interpretation of Inka legitimation strategies that considers how living Sapa Inkas distributed responsibility (and blame) among themselves, deceased rulers and nobility, and victims of ritual sacrifice. Employing …

Further, I sought to understand better the perception of student-athletes and coaches on how athletic involvement contributed to the development of followership skills and leadership skills. Improving Opportunities For Students By Creating Pathways For Taking Art, Denise Hingst

Master's Theses & Capstone Projects

According to research, art education has gone through a decline, causing a lack of opportunities for students to experience the development of creativity in the general classroom. These opportunities for students in the schools in this study become even harder at the secondary level. A school improvement plan is put into place to help increase the pathways for taking art by extending the day at one of the schools and changing the schedules to better help both schools work …

Meyer, K. M. (2023). Just Another Education Abroad Gatekeeper: Education abroad administrators’ perspectives on institutional pricing models and how those models impact inclusion efforts. Nearly every institution in the United States offers some form of education abroad opportunity for their students (Hoffa & DePaul, 2010/2016) and surveys often show interest of undergraduate students is high (Manning, 2023). However, interest does not equate to participation. Some of the top factors found in past research include price and financial implications. Little is said about the institutional-level policies and decisions in setting the pricing models that impact the institution, the education abroad office, …

A unit-based transition onboarding program was launched to create a supportive environment to help retain new graduate nurses on a medical-surgical unit. New graduate nurses with at least 1 to 3 years of experience completed a Likert-type …
