Bolivian President Evo Morales on May 1 seized the local unit of Spain's Red Eléctrica, the owner of approximately 85 percent of the South American country's power grid. For the million or so residents of greater San Salvador whose faucets run dry on a regular basis, the message they received in late April from the Administración de Acueductos y Alcantarillados (ANDA) was a familiar one: "It's going to be a while." Because of technical problems, the pumping station that supplies those homes is only operating at about half capacity right now, according to ANDA, El Salvador's state water regulator. Las Parvas, as the plant is called, draws water from the Río Lempa, El Salvador's largest river, and supplies between 45% and 60% of greater San Salvador's drinking water. …

The four candidates seeking to become the next president of Mexico squared off in an uninspiring and sometimes confusing debate marked by attacks and disqualifications. "Three of the four candidates seeking the presidency in the July 1 election interacted in a disorderly and perhaps schizophrenic manner," said the Coahuilabased daily newspaper Vanguardia. "They mixed criticisms with promises that have already been heard for the last few months in advertisements and interviews." However, Gabriel Quadri de la Torre, candidate of the PANAL party, stood out from the other three candidates, specifically on the topic of renewable energy policy.

On April 16, the administration of Argentine President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner decided that the state should retake control of its oil industry, transferred in the 1990s to the Spanish multinational Repsol. The executive sent Congress a bill proposing the expropriation of 51% of the oil company's shares. Before being acquired by the Spaniards, the company was known as Yacimientos Petrolíferos Fiscales (YPF) and was then renamed Repsol YPF.

The purpose of this dissertation was to conduct a field study in a Mexican company in several Mexican regions. This study considered administrative professionals as a continuation to assess the validity of a recently developed Mexican Border OCB (MBOCB) scale by Ortiz (2000). This validation/refinement of an MBOCB scale was accomplished by comparing and contrasting results of this investigation, given the name of Mexican OCB (MOCB), with other OCB dimensions studies in other regions in order to evaluate criterion validity (e.g., convergent and discriminat) through factor loadings.
