American Business Women, 1890-1930: Creating An Identity, Candace A. Kanes

LSU Historical Dissertations and Theses
While American policy makers needed three years after World War II to recognize the importance of re-educating German youth and to develop a consistent policy, a look at Nuremberg reveals that American representatives in the field started positive and constructive programs immediately after the war. American soldiers ignored non-fraternization, the Army became heavily involved in helping German communities survive, while the Youth Section of the Office of Military Government was the first to focus on persuasion instead of coercion in its re-education efforts. It designed long range programs to introduce young Germans to a democratic culture. Official American policy simply …

The Civil Rights movement is a field ripe for the study of leadership. In it, and many other social movements, there are evident many of the facets which we touch upon in the Jepson School. The contexts of formal organizations, many political systems, and countless community organizations can be seen in the Civil Rights movement. The fields of ethics and leading groups are also evident, and knowledge critical thinking and the theories of leadership are essential in any leadership circumstance. It would also be helpful if leaders in the Civil Rights movement were skilled in conflict resolution, motivation, leading individuals, …

Mankato State University: The Second Century: The First Twenty-Five Years, 1968-1992: An Interpretative Essay, Claire E. Faust
MSU Authors Collection
Donald Youel, in Mankato State College - An Interpretative Essay, commented on the development of this institution for its first one hundred years. He did not chronicle each event, but rather provided the reader with an understanding of what happened and what it meant for the College and for society. He organized this essay from different perspectives: "the developing program, the enrollment, students, the state governing board, administration and faculty." He made the point well that "Mankato's story is a representative instance of America's dream that opportunity means, fundamentally, educational opportunity."
