In the mid-19th century, the Vienna School of Anatomy was at the epicenter of the rapidly growing field of anatomy. One of the school’s most distinguished professors, Hungarian-born anatomist Emil Zuckerkandl was instrumental in transforming anatomy from a descriptive science to one of practical and clinical value. A prolific researcher interested in nearly all areas of morphology and most famously, the chromaffin system, Zuckerkandl’s discoveries from more than a century ago still provide a foundation for surgeons to this day.

The authors discuss the historical origins of the question of whether school resources relate to student achievement, and report the results of a meta- analysis of studies examining that relationship. They find that policymakers, researchers, and other stakeholders have addressed …

The data used for this study was collected from a variety of documentary sources including Parks Board records, old newspapers and archival records. The development of parks in the City of Vancouver has been approached from a multi-stakeholder perspective since the 19th century. There has been an increase in the number of physical structures and area of hard landscaping on the parks. This is as a result of the continuous increase in …

The Intersectionality Of Religion And Socialwelfare: Historical Development Of Richmond's Nonprofit Health And Human Services, F. Ellen Netting, Mary Katherine O'Connor
Social Work Publications
