"A particular method of inspecting data is known to all scholars as the geographic method, based on charting the limits or range of phenomena, features, or traits that have a localized distribution on the earth." Geographers have long been concerned with the distribution of phenomena, whether they be species of trees, refugees, cities, land use, resources, glaciers, farms, ethnic groups, religions, or a myriad of other examples, and distributional analyses are fundamental to the discipline of geography. During the infancy of geography as a discipline, the studies of distributions were mainly descriptive, but as the subject grew and became, more …

Constitutionalism, Human Concerns, And The Dominican Revolution Of 1965, Cynthia Schneider
Constitutionalism, Human Concerns, And The Dominican Revolution Of 1965, Cynthia Schneider
Student Work
I began this study with the intention of concentrating on the American military intervention in the Dominican Republic during the Dominican Revolution in 1965. I soon discovered that there already existed a vast body of literature on the intervention and on the events of the Revolution itself. Yet, most of the available material contained little background information and only an occasional, superficial examination of the underlying causes of the civil war. In addition, much of the writing reflected a strong preoccupation with the idea of constitutionalism as a cause of the Revolution. Such a preoccupation seemed strange indeed, in view …
A History Of The Public Library Movement In Utah, Max J. Evans
A History Of The Public Library Movement In Utah, Max J. Evans
All Graduate Theses and Dissertations, Spring 1920 to Summer 2023
The public library in Utah and its acceptance as a public institution is the subject of this thesis. For present purposes, public libraries will be defined as those open to all, those having general collections of books, and those which circulate their books among the public. This thesis does not treat church, school, college, industrial, medical, law, and special libraries, except as they functioned as public libraries.
Most of Utah’s earliest public libraries were operated and supported by private individuals and organizations. As private support proved insufficient, however, cities and towns began to take up this responsibility. In the year …

Historical Developments And Demographic Patterns Of The Goshute Indians Of Ibapah, Utah, Wilford Lavon Day
All Graduate Plan B and other Reports, Spring 1920 to Spring 2023
There is a lack of written information and literature available on the group of Indians living in the Deep Creek area, known as Goshutes (Gosiute). They are located in Western Utah and Eastern Nevada in Tooele and Juab Counties in Utah and white Pin County in Nevada. The reservation land area includes 111,000 acres.
The following report has been prepared as a study to aid those interested in historical or demographic information of these people and for agencies or individuals intending to become involved in …
