The Migration Into Richmond (1775 To 1860), Ada May Land
The Migration Into Richmond (1775 To 1860), Ada May Land
Master's Theses
Richmond has today become one or the most important cities in the South. The foundation was laid for this early in its history. In 1775 Richmond was a village of only a few houses; in 1860 it was a growing city. The story o! the years between 1775 and 1860 is tied up closely with the story or the migration or people into Richmond and with their lives as they helped to develop the capital or Virginia.
I have in this paper attempted to show the trend of migration into Richmond from 1775 to 1860 and to show the important part …
A History Of Greensburg High School Greensburg, Indiana, Lucy L. Lehman
A History Of Greensburg High School Greensburg, Indiana, Lucy L. Lehman
Graduate Thesis Collection
Greensburg High School has been and is highly regarded by the residents of Decatur County as shown by various newspaper reports, personal interviews, and school records. Its scholastic standards, its curriculum, its administrative personnel, and its student body unite in striving to build an institution that will raise the social and economic conditions of the community. There are but few residents who remember the early days of the school, but on their part there is a feeling of gratitude and appreciation for those early leaders of education in this community who had the foresight to see the importance of higher …

The Introduced Fishes, Game Birds, And Game And Fur-Bearing Mammals Of Utah, Boris Hewitt Popov
All Graduate Theses and Dissertations, Spring 1920 to Summer 2023
For a number of years wildlife workers have realized the importance of the past histories of introduced species. Emphasis in recent years has been directed toward introductions because of the tremendous hunting and fishing pressures. Yearly increases in numbers of hunters and fishermen have been noted in Utah for the past forty years. It is hoped that this compilation of the histories of the introduced game and fish species of Utah will be of value to sportsmen and wildlife managers alike in planning future introductions.
The material included in this paper was obtained from United States Government reports, Utah Territorial …
A Chapter In The History Of Orange County, Virginia, William Livingston Kirby
A Chapter In The History Of Orange County, Virginia, William Livingston Kirby
Master's Theses
In 1753 Orange County could hardly have still been oalled a frontier region, but its society remained like that of the more exposed communities to the west for some time. It was neither overpopulated nor was the land intensively cultivated. The flora and fauna had hardly been affected, and wolves frequently howling at night reminded the inhabitants that the job of taming their environment was yet unfinished. These wolves were suffi ciently destruotive to demand bounties, and many farmers, planters and. gentlemen eked out their income by presenting the head of a wolf to the sheriff, who paid a hundred …

The History And Development Of Franklin, Idaho During The Period 1860-1900, James Ira Young
Theses and Dissertations
This study of Franklin, Idaho has been gratifying in that the author has partially satisfied his curiosity as to the background of the Mormon settlers of the community. Probably there will never be a complete and decisive study made of this community; although, the author has attempted to present an accurate and satisfactory history of Franklin.
Purpose. The purpose in writing the history of Franklin is to present a more adequate and satisfactory knowledge of the community. The study has been divided into six major parts.
