Objectives: This study used multilevel social determinants of health (SDoH) models to determine how SDoH influence different sexes of patients diagnosed with HPV-positive oropharyngeal squamous cell cancers (OPSCC) across the US. Methods: This was a retrospective cohort study assessing HPV-confirmed patients with oropharyngeal squamous cell cancers from 2010 to 2018 using census-level Yost Index socioeconomic status (SES) score and rurality–urbanicity measures alongside individual-level race–ethnicity while stratifying by biological sex. Age-adjusted multivariate regressions were performed for survival, treatment receipt, and delay of treatment initiation (of 3+ months). Results: Across 14,076 OPSCC-HPV-positive patients, delay of treatment uniquely featured positive predictors for males …

Men comprise a small percentage of the early childhood education and care workforce worldwide. Men represent only three percent of the preschool workforce in the United States (US Bureau of Labor Statistics, Department of Labor, 2023). A review of the literature revealed challenges men commonly face as a gender minority in a female-dominated field. These challenges include the transgression of traditional beliefs about masculinity, structural barriers like low pay and poor working conditions, and workplace challenges like exclusion, double standards, gatekeeping, and suspicion of sexual threat. PURPOSE: to monitor USMC recruits throughout training to comparatively assess workload, sleep, stress, and performance responses in men and women.

METHODS: 278 recruits (M = 180 & W = 98; Age = 19 ± 2y) were monitored and tested. Workload, sleep, and stress assessments occurred at weeks 2, 7/8, and 11 of training. Workload (energy expenditure per kg body mass [EE], distance [DIS], steps) and sleep (continuity & duration) were tracked over 72-hour periods using wearable accelerometry and heart rate devices. According to The American Superintendent 2020 Decennial Study, only 1.4% of respondents who hold the superintendent position identify as Black women (Tienken & Domenech, 2021). This percentage has remained under 2.2% for 20 years, though the percentage of white women and non-Black women of color has increased. Current research indicates that Black women have historically been exploited and undervalued at work, with exploitation extending as far back as American slavery, and being undervalued stemming from manufactured stereotypes of Black women for the purpose of sustaining white supremacy. Enhancing English Language Proficiency At Vocational Education Schools Through The Implementation Of Language Learning Strategies, Nadhim Madhloom Hashim Ali

The current study explores the impact of teaching English language in a vocational education context by evaluating the implementation of language learning strategies (LLS) by using a TOEFL mock test. To accomplish the aims of this study, 80 students from Vocational Education Schools (VES) were engaged to respond to the Oxford Strategy Inventory for Language Learning (OSILL). The findings indicate that the differences between gender and the six parts of OSILL reveal that neither males nor females are statistically significant in any of these strategies when employed in academic English learning contexts; The significance value is p<0.05. A strong positive correlation exists between the two parts of OSILL strategies and English language proficiency. Memory strategies significantly correlate with the language proficiency of the (TOEFL).

In her late period of solo piano composition, Canadian composer Ann Southam (1937–2010) developed her own signature postminimalist style combining the static consonance of minimalism with the disruptive instability of twelve-tone serialism. This study analyzes three selected solo piano works in this compositional style: Slow Music: Meditations on a Twelve Tone Row (1979), Qualities of Consonance (1998) and Simple Lines of Enquiry (2007), illustrating how Southam develops a twelve-tone row through minimalist techniques. Additionally, the present study interprets salient structural, harmonic, and temporal elements through the context of gender and sexuality. Research relating to the experiences of Protestant Christian Latino clergy in the United States is scarce. This study sought to explore the role of religion and spirituality on depression, burnout, and suicidality in Protestant Christian Latino clergy using multiple regression analysis. The study consisted of 212 Protestant Christian Latino clergy participants who completed an anonymous self-report questionnaire online that included measures for religious commitment and spiritual well-being, burnout, depression, and suicidality. Participants also completed a measure of ethnic/cultural identity and self-reported gender that were used as moderators in this study. Male accomplishment in scholastic settings has been declining globally for the last decade, leading to long-term consequences for boys and men. Possible neurobiological underpinnings of the gender gap in education are discussed in this literature review. While male and female differences have, in the past, largely been considered socialized, recent science also confirms neurobiological variances between male and female development. These distinctions are assessed for their potential ties to the decline in male academic success, and are correlated to classroom practices, strategies and interventions meant to increase boys' engagement and performance.

This study examines how youth sports privatization, family dynamics, coaching, and team organization affect Latinx youth’s opportunities and interests in playing competitive soccer. It also examines the role that soccer plays in identity-making for Latinx people in Las Vegas, if and how they use these soccer spaces to develop kinship ties and build community, and it documents how these soccer spaces are developed as counter-spaces. Long COVID-19 is characterized by ongoing symptoms or prolonged or long-term complications of SARS-CoV-2 contraction which persist beyond 4 weeks from the initial onset of symptoms. Gender and duration of hospitalization (DH) are key risk factors for developing long COVID-19 syndrome, but their impact and interplay need further study. This research involved 996 long COVID-19 patients, and we compared the levels of general psychopathology, depression, agitated depression, anxiety, and medication use between hospitalized and non-hospitalized males and females. The Club Andino Bariloche (CAB) is an Argentine mountaineering and winter sports club that was established in San Carlos de Bariloche in 1931. This paper provides a historical assessment of gender dynamics and mountaineering subjectivities in the CAB’s digital archive from 1931 to 2011. Specifically, I examine the CAB’s gendered ideologies of mountaineering as pertaining to: 1) the Andean landscape; 2) masculine protagonism; 3) feminine (in)action; and 4) transitional feminism in the late 20th and early 21st centuries. In the United States, STEM-related industries are among the fastest-growing. Our study examines the enrollment of students in the College of Sciences (CoS) and the demographics of the student bodies in both undergraduate and graduate programs from 2010 to 2021 at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV). Using the method of least squares, a polynomial fit model was used to find trends as well as to calculate enrollment predictions for the years 2025 and 2030. This article explores gender dynamics in popular music education, focusing on the perspectives of modern band teachers across the United States. Drawing from existing literature and a survey of 390 modern band educators, the study examines the extent to which modern band teachers perceive their own gender identities influence student participation and enrollment in elective modern band classes. While the majority of respondents believed their gender does not significantly impact enrollment, female teachers were more likely to indicate that they felt that their gender had an impact on student enrollment compared to their male counterparts. Drawing on well-established insights, our study adds nuance to the discussion regarding school pushout practices by centering race, sexual orientation and gender beyond the binary. By way of descriptive and inferential statistics using the High School Longitudinal Study (HSLS:09), our article seeks to disrupt the cisheteronormative discussion regarding exclusionary school discipline and institutionally inflicted pushout that impacts the educational trajectories and opportunities of queer and trans Black, Indigenous, students of color (QT BIPOC). Liberal political thought affirms the moral equality of all persons. The Lockean tradition within liberalism captures this equality by endowing people with equal natural rights. However, a powerful line of criticism holds that the theory fails to live up to its egalitarian billing by treating men and women differently. This article offers a rational reconstruction of the Lockean position on gender equality, and the rights of women in particular. We propose a novel interpretative method which puts Locke into conversation with a contemporary female author, Rachel Speght. Autism research focuses on the externalized behaviors usually associated with the male phenotype of autism with little representation of the internalized behaviors associated with the female phenotype of autism. Even more so, there is little research involving later diagnosed autistic women — especially women of color. Beyond this, non-white individuals have been marginalized within the sphere of education, and their marginalization is exacerbated by an autism diagnosis.
