The Distribution Of Sialic Acid In Selected Tissues And Body Fluids During The Female Reproductive Cycle, Donald Reed Jensen
The Distribution Of Sialic Acid In Selected Tissues And Body Fluids During The Female Reproductive Cycle, Donald Reed Jensen
Biology
An intriguing and dynamic chapter in the history of biochemical research concerns the acylated derivatives of neuraminic acid, the so- called "sialic acids." These substances have been found to occur naturally as constituents of a wide variety of mucoproteins, mucolipids, and related compounds. Because of their vast distribution throughout the animal kingdom, considerable attention has been focused on the chemical, physical, and biological properties of these acids. Attendant studies have shown the functional integrity of certain of the protein and lipid conjugates to be dependent on the presence of sialic acid residues, thereby assigning physiological importance to the acylated derivatives …
Artificial Insemination Of Turkeys, H. L. Wiegers
Artificial Insemination Of Turkeys, H. L. Wiegers
Nebraska Agricultural Experiment Station: Historical Circulars
Artificial insemination should be used for turkeys when results from natural matings are unsatisfactory. There is no hard and fast fertility rule to follow and each breeder will have his own basis of appraisal for the different varieties of turkeys. But one can say that when fertility drops below 65 per cent it is time to take action.
Manual Of Osteopathic Gynecology, Percy Hogan Woodall
Manual Of Osteopathic Gynecology, Percy Hogan Woodall
Classic Osteopathic Medical Works
Efforts have been made in this book to present osteopathic gynecology to the student and practitioner in the most practical and helpful manner. All that is not in accord with the best osteopathic authority and with the known facts of anatomy, physiology, and pathology has been eliminated. From the authorities on these subjects many points of particular osteopathic interest hitherto not incorporated into osteopathic literature have been introduced.
