Factors In Faculty Evaluation Procedures In Community Colleges, Richard Lee Mcgee Jan 1995

Factors In Faculty Evaluation Procedures In Community Colleges, Richard Lee Mcgee

UNLV Retrospective Theses & Dissertations

Two hundred forty-seven community colleges in ten states were studied through survey analysis to determine the nature of faculty evaluation procedures employed in those schools. Faculty's service to the college was next in importance to administrators, with other areas, such as community service or participation in professional …

From Teaching To Learning: A New Paradigm For Undergraduate Education, Robert B. Barr, John Tagg

Higher Education

Two alternative paradigms for undergraduate education are compared; one holds teaching as its purpose, the other learning. The natures of the two paradigms are examined on the following dimensions: mission and purposes, criteria for success, teaching and learning structures, underlying learning theory, concepts of productivity and methods of funding, and faculty and staff roles in instruction and governance.

Summary Results Of A Survey Of Economic Development In Texas Cities (Report 95-1), Delbert A. Taebel Nov 1994

Summary Results Of A Survey Of Economic Development In Texas Cities (Report 95-1), Delbert A. Taebel

Center for Economic Development Research and Service Publications - Archive

If one looks at any textbook on municipal administration published more than 10 years ago, economic development as a city function would not even have been mentioned. Yet, because of the dozens of conferences and flurry of articles focusing on economic development, it may seem to many that economic development has been around for a long time. Indeed, seven years ago the Institute of Urban Studies published an initial study entitled "Local Economic Development in Texas."
