The Educational Approach Included In Al-Hadid Sura, Asmaa Abed Al- Muneim Al- Omari, Hafitha Muhammad Mahmoud
Al-Balqa Journal for Research and Studies البلقاء للبحوث والدراسات
The study aims to show the educational approaches included in A/-Hadid Sura. This will be done through emphasizing the linguistic patterns utilized in the Sura as a means of communication. The importance of the study stems from the fact that the linguistic educational approach has had a major role in making people accept the principles of Islam. The article makes use of the inductive/deductive approach. It is structured along two sections: the first introduces Al-Hadid Sura, its virtues, the implication of its title, and the most important subjects it deals with. The second section is concerned with introducing the concept …

Between the publication of Moi, Tituba sorcière (1986) and Mets et merveilles (2015), Maryse Condé has channeled her academic and pedagogical experiences onto the realm of fiction. This article shows the committed relations of the Caribbean author to education and its stakes. We will proceed to the identification and the analysis of the symptoms of a modern school and a world both in global crisis, as shown in the autobiographical and critique writing of Condé.

Structured Sensemaking Of Videographic Information Within Dataphoric Space, Michael J. Pritchard
Structured Sensemaking Of Videographic Information Within Dataphoric Space, Michael J. Pritchard
Masters Theses & Doctoral Dissertations
Attempts to create a structured sensemaking model have proven difficult. Much of the research today has evolved into a cacophony of conceptual models. Many of these sensemaking models have been proposed but not tested. Using structural equations, a unified model of sensemaking was developed and tested. This structured sensemaking model contains five sensemaking constructs: chaos, anchoring, articulation, retrospection, and identity. This model was tested using data collected from 224 educationally focused YouTube videos. The confirmatory factor model developed for this research has a measured Comparative Fit Index of 0.979, a measured Standardized Root Mean Square Residual of 0.078, and a …
Evaluation Of Resuscitation Cardiopulmonary Training For The New Nurse, Nhan Thi Yen Nguyen
Evaluation Of Resuscitation Cardiopulmonary Training For The New Nurse, Nhan Thi Yen Nguyen
Master's Theses
This study aimed to define effective cardiopulmonary resuscitation training for new nurses. Nurses who respond to emergency situations are required to have the sensitivity and professional skills to respond effectively. Thus, improving resuscitation knowledge and technique for nurses is critical in order to enhance the quality and safety of patient care. This study used a pretest and posttest research design with convenience sampling; the sample consisted of 30 nurses who worked at the study hospital. As a result, new nurses’ knowledge improved from 7% to 73% after training. The psychomotor development of skills after the cardiopulmonary resuscitation training improved to …

A Space For Learning: An Analysis Of Research On Active Learning Spaces, Robert Talbert, Anat Mor-Avi
Open Access Publishing Support Funded Articles
Active Learning Classrooms (ALCs) are learning spaces specially designed to optimize the practice of active learning and amplify its positive effects in learners from young children through university-level learners. As interest in and adoption of ALCs has increased rapidly over the last decade, the need for grounded research in their effects on learners and schools has grown proportionately. In this paper, we review the peer-reviewed published research on ALCs, dating back to the introduction of “studio” classrooms and the SCALE-UP program up to the present day. We investigate the literature and summarize findings on the effects of ALCs on learning …

Social Activism: Teaching Activism Through Socially Conscious Plays, Alanna Kiewe
Social Activism: Teaching Activism Through Socially Conscious Plays, Alanna Kiewe
Master's Theses
Students derived numerous benefits while participating in theater by gaining confidence and social skills. To help navigate these skills, this thesis showed that using a socially conscious play helped participants gain empathy, an understanding of their community, and an interest in social activism. This protocol outlined the process of producing And a Child Shall Lead, by Michael Slade. The entire process of working on Slade’s play allowed students in middle school to gain an understanding of the Holocaust and helped them appreciate how social activism can shape communities.
Closing The Opportunity Gap In And Through Dance: A New Rubric Design, Emily Hunter
Closing The Opportunity Gap In And Through Dance: A New Rubric Design, Emily Hunter
Master's Theses
The goal of this research was to design a dance audition rubric that could identify both capability and potential in novice students and formally trained dancers alike. The high school targeted in this study was among the top public arts schools in the nation, able to offer unparalleled opportunities to students who gain admission by audition. A problem existed in that students with little or no formal dance training had difficulty gaining entry to the dance program because the existing rubric rewarded evidence of training over raw talent. In designing a new rubric, the hope was to identify one way …

Globalizing Sustainable Education: Environmental Literacy Connecting Cultural Literacy, Sofia Maciel
Globalizing Sustainable Education: Environmental Literacy Connecting Cultural Literacy, Sofia Maciel
Capstone Projects and Master's Theses
This Capstone project aims to increase the integration of both a sustainable and globalized education. This is an important issue for students and teachers worldwide because without a more globalized and environmentally aware educational focus in schools, there will be little to no improvement in the suffering and changing climate of the planet. It is argued that after decades of neglect, nations are finally becoming aware that the natural health of the earth is in a delicate state. We are all stakeholders facing the risk of environmental dangers, but for this project the focus is on teachers and students. These …

Parent Involvement In Elementary Schools, Maria Miramontes
Parent Involvement In Elementary Schools, Maria Miramontes
Capstone Projects and Master's Theses
The current Smarter Balanced Assessment Consortium results prove that the Greenfield Union School District is academically low in English and Mathematics. This is a problem that the school district is facing because students are not engaged with their education. Poverty and low parental involvement puts students at risk to not be engaged in their education, since the socioeconomic status of parents can prohibit parents with the level of engagement in their children’s education. The majority of the students at Greenfield Union School District are English learners, this is another risk factor because at times parents cannot help their children in …

Gnome Waste Warriors: Waste Reduction Through Sustainability, Hayley E.R. Frost Rubino
Capstone Projects and Master's Theses
The focus of this Capstone Project was on how waste and waste reduction could positively impact a community. Waste reduction is an important issue because the negative impacts of waste affect the whole planet. By educating Monterey Gnome School (MGS) about waste, changes in daily habits are intended to result in lasting change. An evidence-based argument is offered that waste is a global issue that negatively impacts the earth's landmasses, oceans, and human health. Both MGS staff and students were interviewed and surveyed, as their perspectives provide unique aspects of thinking about waste issues. The themes that emerged from an …

No Habla Español: Are Monolingual Teachers Getting The Support They Need?, Natalie Correa
Capstone Projects and Master's Theses
For this Capstone Project, the researchers investigated how monolingual teachers view the support and resources they received to teach English Language Learners (ELL) and what they thought could be done to improve their teaching effectiveness. More specifically, three themes emerged from an analysis of the data obtained from interviews of monolingual teachers and administrators. Based on the emergent themes, an action was undertaken to help monolingual teachers better address the needs of ELLs. This is an important issue for monolingual teachers because …
