The prevalence of pressure injuries, particularly in older adults, continues to be disturbingly high, especially in those suffering from chronic diseases and frailty, bringing a higher awareness of applied preventive and therapeutic measures (Jaul et al., 2019). In long-term care nurses, will an educational, evidenced-based pressure ulcer prevention program impact health outcomes by increasing nurses’ knowledge, compared to no intervention over four weeks? The Pieper-Zulkowski Pressure Ulcer/Injuries Knowledge Test was used to evaluate the nurse's pressure injury knowledge pre- and post-educational intervention. The ten-year anniversary (!) of the CUNY Games Conference combines workshops, idea exchanges, interactive participant presentations, playtesting, and playing tabletop games into a two-day hybrid event to promote and discuss game-based learning. The conference focuses on creative pedagogy, such as playful learning activities or games, that teachers can use in the classroom every day. Day 1 featured interactive presentations by attendees, informal idea exchange sessions, and workshops by the conference organizers. Day 2 featured select presentations and workshops, poster sessions, playtesting and game modding, and casual play of tabletop games.

The US Army War College Quarterly: Parameters

The Army has made insufficient progress in arming its officers with science, technology, engineering, mathematics, and management (STEM+M) knowledge. The contemporary battlefield is faster paced, technologically enabled, and data driven, requiring officers to possess more skills, knowledge, and experience. We examine the Army’s history with STEM education and show that, in terms of education, the current Army officer corps has fallen behind its requirements for technology-enabled forces and modern society. We conclude with recommendations on how the Army can close the STEM+M education gap through advances in higher education and adopting talent management practices.

Background: Roughly 75 million endoscopies are conducted annually in the United States. The majority, 68%, are gastrointestinal endoscopies. Routine endoscopy procedures such as a colonoscopy or esophagogastroduodenoscopy utilize moderate sedation which is often a combination of midazolam and fentanyl. Drawing on theories of deliberative democracy, this article analyzes initiatives in educational settings to develop deliberative capabilities—defined here as a person's motivation and abilities to explain their views based on thoughtful considerations, reciprocal engagement, and more inclusive and respectful communication. There are 5.6 million K-12 students who are either undocumented or living with at least one undocumented parent (Passel & Cohn, 2018). In 2021, FWD.us estimated that approximately 620,000 K-12 students are undocumented; 34% of these students migrated from countries in Asia, sub-Saharan African, and Caribbean countries. These students have unique needs in schools, such as support for lower frequency language services, wraparound supports, and classroom curricula that should account for their cultural heritages and traditions. Assessments of how Mississippi, the state with the highest incarceration rate, engages with access to prison education, barriers to employment, and youth incarceration compared to the national, Southern, and non-southern averages will be explored to direct recidivism reduction solutions. In this dissertation I propose that Paradise Lost can be read as a pedagogical lesson for Milton’s “fit audience,” where the author implements his views on education in the context of heaven, hell, and Paradise. This thesis offers both a historical analysis of the emergence of the black public school system in Louisville, Kentucky and a probe into the academic posture of 19^th century black education in the state.
