The purpose of this study was (1) to convince journalism teachers, students, and counselors in Washington state that the media of journalism have much to offer in the way of employment, satisfying salaries, promotion, and job pleasure; (2) to reveal to students which subjects are most valuable in high school and college; and (3) to explore the areas of journalism so as to give the reader a deeper insight into various employment practices and possibilities.

The purpose of this study was twofold: to formulate an aerospace education handbook providing pertinent information and material which may be woven into existing sixth grade courses in the elementary curriculum and to make a careful evaluation of one aerospace program in a sixth grade classroom. The problems were: (1) selection and organization of appropriate information and material for the handbook; (2) determining suggested teaching procedures and activities; and (3) preparation and administration of evaluative instruments for the program.

With the capitulation of Japan in August 1945, World Tier II came to an abrupt end but that date signified the beginning of a phenomenon quite unique in history: the transformation of an alien and authoritarian culture into a democratically oriented society by means of educational Ideas and methodology. The role of American educational philosophy in the democratization of Japanese society warrants more attention than it has thus far received. The proper relation between Church and state in the field of education has not yet been settled, nor is it likely ever to be with any finality. It was the purpose of this study (1) to obtain a cross-section analysis of the eleventh and twelfth grade teachers of literature in the state of Washington; (2) to discover the attitudes of these teaches as to why and how literature should be taught in grades eleven and twelve; (3) to learn how it is actually taught at theses grade levels; (4) to present and analyze these finding; (5) to ascertain which college courses these teachers felt had helped them the most in preparing to teach literature; and (6) to make suggestions that might help the prospective teachers of literature.

Often expressed claims which amounted to a general belief among many of the administrators of the schools of Carbon County were the stimulus for this study. The claims generally expressed were that the Mexican-Indian students of the schools did not have as good ability, did not achieve as well, were poorer attenders, caused a larger amount of difficulty and delinquency and did not adjust to the school society as well proportionately as their co-students of other nationalities.
