Peace Corps' School Partnership Program: Handbook, Peace Corps (U.S.)

Other Documents

"The Peace Corps' School Partnership Program began in 1964 as a major international self-help program. Under this program the Peace Corps makes it possible for a United States school to sponsor the building of a school overseas. The American school raises approximately $1,000 - $1,500, the amount estimated as necessary for the purchase of construction materials in most cases. This handbook answers some of the questions most frequently asked by school groups or organizations interested in taking part in the program and describes the methods used to raise money by some of the more than 500 schools that have participated." …

A Study In The Use Of An Inductive-Deductive Audio-Lingual Approach To Teaching Standard English Usage, Douglas Delano Patterson

All Master's Theses

If an aspect of the English teacher's job is to teach the non-standard speaker a different language (in part, at least), perhaps teachers should examine the process through which the child first learns his language. It would seem logical that this same process be followed as nearly as possible in training the non-standard speaker to speak standard English.

Theses and Dissertations

The purpose of writing this teacher's manual was to provide a course of study for the junior high school Indian Seminary students living mainly in Northern climes of North America. In more recent years, a greater emphasis by the Church has been placed on preaching the Gospel to Northern Indian tribes, as evidenced by the organization of the Northern Indian Mission in 1964. An Extension Of The Reinforcement Contiguity Issue – The Effect Of Retention In The Goal Box After Reinforcement, Marilyn L. Grey

All Master's Theses

This study investigated one prediction of Guthrie's theory of learning (1936, 1952)--that retention in the goal box after reinforcement increases the likelihood of incompatible responses to the goal stimuli and, thus, decreases learning. Three measures of learning were used: number of trials to criterion, total number of correct trials in the first twenty trials, and number of subjects who met criterion of five successive correct responses within forty trials.
