What Are The Athletic Stressors And Clinical Implications Experienced By First Year Division Iii Student-Athletes : An Exploratory Study, Jennifer A. Johnson, Jennifer Anne Johnson

Theses, Dissertations, and Projects

This exploratory study was undertaken to investigate the ways that stressors from athletics may impact Division III female student-athletes emotional and cognitive states during their first year at college. Findings were compared to the experiences from various studentathletes from other divisions, assessing the extent to which they have coped and managed their stress. Data was collected from Division III female athletes at two all-women's colleges located in New England. With the help of five guided interview questions, narrative interviews were conducted with seven subjects who spoke about their first year experiences as a student-athlete. A Faith-Based Program Evaluation: Moral Development Of Seminary Students At The Louisiana State Penitentiary, Bruce Sabin

The purpose of this dissertation was to conduct an outcomes-based program evaluation for the Louisiana State Penitentiary (Angola) campus of the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. The study included one primary research question, with two subquestions. The primary research question asked to what extent students in the program developed moral judgment consistent with program goals of rehabilitating students and preparing them for effective ministry. The first subquestion asked whether statistically significant differences existed in the moral reasoning of students of different class years. Part-Time University Faculty Members: The Relationship Between Environment And Satisfaction, Kyle Scafide

LSU New Orleans Theses and Dissertations

The purpose of this study was to explore the relationship between the environment and the satisfaction of certain part-time university faculty members. A web-based, confidential questionnaire was made available to voluntary participants. The data collection occurred during the Fall semester of 2004. The survey provided data from 10 Louisiana universities in the top four Carnegies categories of Doctoral Extensive, Doctoral Intensive, and Masters I and II universities. Though a total of 610 faculty members participated in this study, the final sample included 542 participants.
