The Responsibility Of The Church To Offer Guidance To Parents With Regard To The Personality Development Of The Child, Edgar P. Senne

Master's Theses or Doctor of Nursing Practice

Kansas, as well as the other forty-seven states, assisted by the Federal Government, has long recognized the need for the caring of the physical well-being of its children. To this end monetary appropriations and various agencies have been set up by legislation to provide food, shelter, and clothing for children whose parents could not provide these essentials. This has al.so been done for those who needed medical care and other physical corrections as well as for those whose mentality has not developed to an extent to permit them to make their way among normal people. However, “Man shall not live …

Approaches To Bible-Study In A Metropolitan Center, A. R. Kretzmann Sep 1937

Approaches To Bible-Study In A Metropolitan Center, A. R. Kretzmann

Concordia Theological Monthly

To many of our people the Bible is a closed book, not because of the difficulty of understanding it, but because the approaches to it, outside of the sermon, have always been rather ponderous and seemingly uninteresting. We are not here in order to defend any …

Today the under-privileged are by no means confined to the mentally and physically handicapped. Since 1929 the number has greatly increased because of our faulty economic and social organization. Many healthy men who are both able and willing to work have been forced into idleness because of inability to secure a position. Extension classes in "Mental Hygiene" and "Social Case Work" conducted under the direction of the head of the Sociology Department of the Utah State Agricultural College during 1934-35, decided to make a study of conditions actually existing among Ogden City's victims of the depression, with particular emphasis on …
