Renal infarction is a rare finding in children. Associations between SARS-CoV-2 infections and thromboembolic events including renal infarcts have been described in adults. Although a similar association in children has not yet been described with this pandemic, the pediatric literature is still evolving with the recognition of new manifestations including the post-infectious Multisystem Inflammatory Syndrome in Children (MIS-C). We report the rare event of multiple renal infarcts in a 6-year-old boy manifesting several features of MIS-C 9 weeks following a self-limiting febrile illness characteristic of COVID-19. An underlying Factor V Leiden mutation was identified in this child but felt to …

INTRODUCTION/OBJECTIVE
Covid-19 created immediate challenges to anatomy education. The traditional format of gross laboratory sessions experienced a direct impact and few reports documented curricular delivery changes specific to laboratory format. The purpose of this study was to assess the adaptations incorporated in gross anatomy laboratories by anatomists, during May-August 2020, in response to Covid-19.
MATERIALS/METHODS
Data were collected through the IRB-approved Virtual Anatomy During Covid-19 survey that consisted of 20 questions, including open-ended prompts asking participants to describe the structure of a “typical” laboratory session during Covid-19. Responses were solicited from professional anatomy associations during June 2020. Open-ended responses describing …

Introduction/Objective
Covid-19 created challenges to anatomy education, particularly gross anatomy given the traditional in-person format of lectures and lab. The objective of this study was to assess the changes in lecture methods and lab materials used in anatomy courses that ran between May-August (T1) and August-December (T2) 2020 responding to Covid-19 restrictions.
Materials/Methods
A survey was distributed to anatomy educators through professional associations from June-November 2020. Respondents indicated (1) their institution; (2) programs taught (professional health (PH), medicine (MED), or undergraduate (UG)); (3) course type (integrated or stand-alone); (4) percentage of lab time before and during Covid-19 that utilized cadaveric, …

INTRODUCTION/OBJECTIVE:
Covid-19 has led to sudden changes to gross anatomy education when traditional dissection-based laboratories had to shift towards virtual modalities due to physical distancing and remote learning requirements. The purpose of this study was to determine how the use of digital teaching resources in gross anatomy education changed from before to during Covid-19.
MATERIAL/METHODS:
Data were obtained from an IRB-approved survey distributed to professional associations and listservs targeting anatomy educators from June to November 2020. Respondents were asked to select the digital resources they used before and during Covid-19. Data were analyzed during the early and latter parts of …

INTRODUCTION & OBJECTIVE:
Traditional gross anatomy lab assessment involves in-person examination using cadavers or models. Covid-19 related restrictions introduced challenges to gross anatomy education due to the discipline's reliance on lab-based learning and assessment. Therefore, the objective of this study was to assess changes made by anatomy educators to gross anatomy lab assessments during May-August 2020.
MATERIALS & METHODS:
A 20-item survey assessed gross anatomy pedagogy, teaching resources, and assessment before and during the pandemic. The survey was distributed online to anatomy educators through professional associations and listservs in June 2020. Data were obtained from two survey items that asked …

A Phenomenological Inquiry Into The Perceptions Of Single Mother College Students, Jamaica Delmar
Dissertations, Theses, and Projects
As parenting students are an underserved subset of the growing nontraditional college student population in the United States, this study aims to understand and illuminate the experiences of single mother students while in pursuit of a post-secondary credential. This research is motivated by the following research questions, viewed within the context of a participant's identities: How do single mother college students perceive institutional support services? How do single mother college students experience their interactions with faculty? What institutional systems are in place that pose the biggest barriers to persistence and degree completion for single mother college students? A phenomenological qualitative …

The COVID-19 pandemic has disrupted the academic library as a place for learning, connection, and wellness. The shift to virtual services has significantly changed how students are interacting with the library space, introducing challenges and opportunities for library staff to revitalize and re-center the library beyond the physical constraints of brick and mortar. This session will provide a look at how two university libraries have responded to this call for re-centering the library as place through virtual programming and outreach services. Presenters will discuss their experiences and insights with creating new and unique virtual programming across health and wellness, teaching …

Three Minnesota cultural heritage organizations developed distinctly different community history projects to document the COVID-19 Pandemic. Anoka County Historical Society distributed monthly surveys asking questions relevant to the community at the time while encouraging the public to submit documentation for the archives. Hennepin County Library rapidly expanded its nascent web archiving program to capture websites of Minneapolis and suburban community organizations affected by and responding to the pandemic. Minnesota State University, Mankato developed a community history project that incorporated the international student experience to explore how our students and their families responded to the pandemic throughout the summer.

As the Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus-2 (SARS-CoV-2) pandemic engulfs millions worldwide, the quest for vaccines or drugs against the virus continues. The helicase protein of SARS-CoV-2 represents an attractive target for drug discovery since inhibition of helicase activity can suppress viral replication. Using in silico approaches, we have identified drugs that interact with SARS-CoV-2 helicase based on the presence of amino acid arrangements matching binding sites of drugs in previously annotated protein structures. The drugs exhibiting an RMSD of ≤ 3.0 Å were further analyzed using molecular docking, molecular dynamics (MD) simulation, and post-MD analyses. Using these approaches, we …

Complement activation has been implicated in the pathogenesis of severe SARS-CoV-2 infection. However, it remains to be determined whether increased complement activation is a broad indicator of critical illness (and thus, no different in COVID-19). It is also unclear which pathways are contributing to complement activation in COVID-19, and if complement activation is associated with certain features of severe SARS-CoV-2 infection, such as endothelial injury and hypercoagulability. To address these questions, we investigated complement activation in the plasma from patients with COVID-19 prospectively enrolled at two tertiary care centers: Washington University School of Medicine (n=134) and Yale School of Medicine …
