As the field of higher education began furloughs and layoffs to alleviate COVID-19 budget concerns, cultural heritage workers were directed to clearly demonstrate how their work contributes to institutions’ educational missions. Although physical library and archival collections were deemed inaccessible and less critical during the pandemic than ebooks, electronic journals, and digitized special collections, the two special collections projects considered in this case study demonstrate the value of continuing collections management work remotely and the relevance of student employees and other contingent workers in libraries and archives. Tracheostomy In Covid-19-Infected Patients, Mohammad M. Gaballah, Wael M. H Eldin Eldrandaly
Journal of Medicine in Scientific Research
Purpose To evaluate the modifications in the indications and technique of tracheostomy for prolonged-intubated COVID-19-infected patients. Methodology Commissioned by the Ministry of Health in Egypt, different guidelines for tracheostomy for COVID-19 patients were revised. A guideline was adopted and modified to meet the equipment provided by facilities assigned to contain the current pandemic. The understanding of staff and the applicability of the new guidelines were evaluated using a mini-summative quiz answered by 117 tracheostomy team members in facilities around Grand Cairo, Egypt. Results The percentages of consistent answers for questions 1–6 were 94, 90.60, 89.70, 95.70, 61.50, and 93.20%, respectively. …

Data was downloaded as an Excel spreadsheet which appeared in the Public Use Datasets section under the Cumulative Data link of Michigan's Coronavirus webpage, under the url https://www.michigan.gov/coronavirus/0,9753,7-406-98163_98173---,00.html.
Cases are aggregated by the date of onset of COVID-19 symptoms, if known, otherwise by laboratory specimen date if known, otherwise by case referral date. Deaths are aggregated by the date of death if known, otherwise by the last date of a change to the case status.

States are facing a severe budget crisis as a result of the coronavirus pandemic. And with the federal government unlikely to pass a relief bill to address those state budget issues,1 states will need to play a significant role in making up revenue shortfalls.

The SARS-CoV-2 virus outbreak has underscored numerous weak links in our biodefense countermeasures against highly communicable diseases. Many believe it was our lack of an effective testing model that allowed the virus to become a global pandemic within a short period. The gold standard collection method for the SARS-CoV-2 virus involves mechanical debridement of the nasopharyngeal cavity with a stiff swab applicator, which has been known to cause pain and injury to patients, subsequently resulting in low patient acceptance of the procedure. Yemeni-Americans have made a place for themselves in New York City running corner stores across the five boroughs. As the city shuttered during the coronavirus, bodegas stayed open as “essential businesses” during the lockdown. Three different store owners, in Brooklyn and the Bronx, proved a resource for neighbors during an unprecedented year.
