The need for community is essential in the life of the believer. Without a solid community, a believer may fall into isolation and even driven away from God instead of closer to Him. Psychologists have stated that community impacts human cognitive and moral development. James Fowler takes this a step further, outlined a believer’s stages of faith compared to human development. These levels of development directly impact the spiritual formation process in the life of a believer and demonstrate the vital role it plays in the believer’s life. Discipleship remains an important tool for helping a believer move through these …

This paper explores how two types of textual features—uncertainty-related features and self-regulation-related features—affect information diffusion amid disasters. We identify four textual expressions (i.e., insight, netspeak, work, and reward) of social media posts that generate negative impacts on the diffusion of information. Against the backdrop of the COVID-19 pandemic, we conducted an econometrical study of COVID-19-related posts collected from Weibo, followed by an experiment, to examine the proposed relationships between the reposting behavior and the four textual expressions. Theoretically, we examined the potential effects of information avoidance on the sharing of information on social media during disasters. This study can improve …

During the COVID-19 pandemic, mass media, especially online news portals, have been essential in disseminating health information and governmental policies, serving as the primary reference for the general public. Unfortunately, not all news articles are relevant to COVID-19 case monitoring. Some sources provide information that is less useful for tracking the pandemic's progression. Thus, it is crucial to develop a methodology that allows news articles to effectively aid stakeholders in monitoring COVID-19 developments. This study proposes using Deep Learning (DL) models to classify news headlines for this purpose. The aim is to identify suitable and reliable DL models for classifying …

While telepsychology has existed in various forms for years and has been researched since the 1960s (Abrams, 2020), it was not until the COVID-19 pandemic that telepsychology started to be widely used. Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, one study found that psychologists conducted only around 7% of their work via telepsychology, a number that jumped to over 85% in response to COVID-19 (Pierce, Perrin, Tyler, et al., 2020). While there has been a significant increase in the research exploring the efficacy of telehealth since the start of the pandemic (Lin et al., 2022), further research regarding long-term impacts and specific …

CD16A is an activating Fc receptor on NK cells that mediates antibody-dependent cellular cytotoxicity (ADCC), a key mechanism in antiviral immunity. However, the role of NK cell-mediated ADCC in SARS-CoV-2 infection remains unclear, particularly whether it limits viral spread and disease severity or contributes to the immunopathogenesis of COVID-19. We hypothesized that the high-affinity CD16AV176 polymorphism influences these outcomes. Using an in vitro reporter system, we demonstrated that CD16AV176 is a more potent and sensitive activator than the common CD16AF176 allele. To assess its clinical relevance, we analyzed 1,027 patients hospitalized with COVID-19 from the Immunophenotyping Assessment in a COVID-19 …
