The article presents the materials of herpetological studies conducted in 2007-2018 in the South Aral region. The main work on the study of the species composition, distribution and counting of all reptile species and ecological features was carried out in three large ecosystems (North-Western Kyzyl Kum, Ustyurt and the lower reaches of the Amu Darya). The studies were carried out according to standard methods using point and route counts. In the works, generally accepted methods of zoological and environmental studies are used. Q2S Enhancing Pedagogy

Students at CSUSB will be required to take two courses designated as writing intensive (WI) after the quarter-to-semester (Q2S) transition in Fall 2020. Having WI courses in the Biology major will allow Biology students to satisfy the WI requirement and a major requirement/elective with one course, and having WI course in the major will help students develop discipline-specific critical thinking and writing skills. The current upper-division Microbiology course involves a significant amount of writing. The aim of research was to determine the need for multimedia based on Problem Based Learning in biological matter. This research is a qualitative descriptive study. The method used is in the form of a questionnaire (questionnaire). Questionnaires were given to 67 students of SMAN 1 Way Jepara in August 2017. Data were analyzed using descriptive analysis. The results indicates that 67.2% of students stated that the material immune system was considered the most difficult, 93.3% of students wanted the development of new learning media, 54% of students wanted interactive multimedia. Abstract –

E. E. Just (1883-1941) is an acknowledged “pioneer” in cell biology, and he is perhaps the pioneer in study of egg cell fertilization. Here we discover that Just also made pioneering contributions to general biology and evolutionary bioethics.

Within Just’s published contributions to observational cell biology, there are substantial fragments of his theory of ethical behavior, a theory with roots in cell biology. In addition to such previously available fragments, Just’s fully developed theory is now available. This recently discovered unpublished book-length manuscript argues for the biological origins of ethical behavior (evolving from cells to humans, within a …

This two part activity is designed to raise awareness about the risk of concussions and the symptoms to look for. The purpose of the first activity is to explore the effects of an impact to your head and how safety equipment, like helmets, can protect you. This will be demonstrated by using a sensor in a mannequin head and measuring velocity of impact. The purpose of the second activity is to demonstrate the symptoms of a concussion using concussion goggles. Wearing the concussion goggles students will test their hand-eye coordination, visual perception, and balance. This will allow the students to …
