South Carolina Residents Can Now Show Their Gardner-Webb Pride On A License Plate, Office Of University Communications

The wait is over for Gardner-Webb University alumni who live in South Carolina and want to display their school pride on a license plate. South Carolina specialty license plates are now available through the S.C. Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV). The new Gardner-Webb S.C. plates allow supporters of Gardner-Webb to show school pride while providing financial support to GWU.

Boiling Springs, North Carolina native and Gardner-Webb University Class of 2018 graduate Christian Jessup has always found special ways to channel his passions for music and film into various projects at different points in his life. As a double major in music composition and communications studies, Jessup received multiple national awards from Alpha Chi Honor Society during his time at GWU, participated in a summer internship with Hans Zimmer’s company Remote Control Productions in Santa Monica, California, and earned the 2018 Outstanding Male Graduate honor. Career Preparedness: Perspectives From C&Cj Alumni At An Scu, Tracey Woodard, Courtney Mcdonald

Teacher-Scholar: The Journal of the State Comprehensive University

State comprehensive universities (SCUs) feature degree programs designed to help graduates achieve their career aspirations. Criminology and Criminal Justice (C&CJ) programs have become popular at SCUs, in part because students are inspired by media portrayals of law enforcement to work in the criminal justice field. Yet little is known about how C&CJ alumni of SCUs perceive their educational experiences. For this exploratory study, an online survey was distributed to alumni of a Southern SCU C&CJ program. Alumni were asked about their perceptions of their own career preparedness following graduation and their satisfaction with the C&CJ program. Overall, alumni were satisfied …

To improve understanding of alumni outcomes and experiences, the Australia Awards Global Tracer Facility (GTF) is running a survey of Australia Awards Pacific Scholarship and Australian Regional Development Scholarship alumni in July 2021. The survey will provide insight into the long-term outcomes of the AAPS and ARDS, with findings to be provided in a region-level and country-level reports. This project will help fill a gap in the knowledge of DFAT and Posts about this particular group of alumni.

The Gardner-Webb University Distinguished Artist Series, co-sponsored by the Alfred and Shirley Wampler Caudill Fund and The Department of Theatre Arts, will present Dove Dupree, a 2013 GWU alumnus, actor, poet and spoken word artist, for two programs on April 29 in Dover Theatre. At 3 p.m., he will lead a poetry workshop and at 6:30 p.m., a poetry showcase.
