Childhood Iron Deficiency Anemia (IDA) remains a major public health challenge in Egypt, where its persistently high and rising prevalence carries substantial consequences for child growth, cognitive development, immunity, and long-term health outcomes. Globally, approximately 40% of children aged 6–59 months are affected by anemia (World Health Organization, 2025), and Egypt mirrors this burden, with national data showing a worsening trend in recent years. Alarm fatigue, a response to constant exposure to clinical devices’ alarms that can lead to a decrease in responsiveness and safety in healthcare settings. Although it’s well researched in practicing nurses, yet there isn’t much known if alarm fatigue can start in nursing school and how it affects nursing students when in clinical settings. This study examines the importance and effects of alarm fatigue among Georgia Southern University nursing students and the faculty/staff through a mixed-methods survey. White-tailed deer in New Hampshire historically persisted at relatively low densities due to the state’s severe winters that limited populations. However, in 2025 white-tailed deer harvest in the state was the highest on record, marking a remarkable population recovery from a historic low in the early 1980s. Management of deer in New Hampshire must adapt as the state faces new challenges due to increasing suburbanization, milder winters, growing deer densities, and the looming threat of chronic wasting disease.

Background: Professionalism concerns are often dismissed as subjective, although unprofessional behavior can harm learning, teamwork, patient safety and experience, and professional development. End-of-residency professionalism ratings have been associated with more patient complaints in early practice. Reframing professionalism as trustworthiness shifts attention from traits to observable behaviors.

Objective: To develop and evaluate a framework that reframes professionalism as trust, determine whether diverse stakeholders agree on behaviors that undermine professional trust, and identify practical remediation strategies.

Interpreting The Trispectrum As The Cross-Spectrum Of The Wigner-Ville Distribution, Aviva Abosch

The fourth-order time-invariant spectrum, or trispectrum, has a simple derivation as the cross-spectrum among frequency bands in the Wigner-Ville distribution (WVD). Viewed this way, the trispectrum gains intuitive meaning as a measure of the linear dependence of power across frequencies, which yields some insight into its structure and interpretation. We highlight, in particular, a two-dimensional subdomain as useful for identifying modulated oscillations when the modulating envelope is non-negative or lowpass. Spectral characteristics of the carrier and modulating signals are revealed along separate axes of a two-dimensional representation of this domain. Urban refugees in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs) often face housing insecurity, undermining their ability to achieve self-reliance and well-being. Few studies have evaluated the impact of housing interventions in these contexts. This study offers preliminary evidence on the effectiveness of a 9-month rental assistance program targeting female-headed Venezuelan migrant households in Colombia. Using pre-post data from 517 participants, we assessed changes over time in household-level self-reliance, domains of self-reliance, subjective well-being and perceived agency. We also employed ordinary least squares regression and fixed-effects models to estimate changes in self-reliance and the relationship between self-reliance, psychosocial and housing outcomes. Our …

Stony coral tissue loss disease (SCTLD) affects at least 22 Western Atlantic coral species and presents as focal or multifocal lesions, which swiftly expand across the colony, resulting in rapid tissue loss and mortality. Previous histopathological examinations have noted necrosis, body wall breakage, gastrodermal separation, exocytosis, and vacuolization of the symbiont as pathological signs; however, the same signs are present to some degree in otherwise apparently healthy coral tissues processed for histology. This review synthesizes current evidence on the relationship between natural ecosystems and mental health outcomes with a particular focus on arid and rapidly urbanizing contexts such as the United Arab Emirates (UAE). It introduces the Multi-Ecosystem Therapeutic Framework for Arid Urban Environments, which moves beyond generalized "nature exposure" models by systematically linking distinct environmental systems to mental health outcomes through identifiable psychological, physiological and social mechanisms. The proliferation of edge computing in industrial and IoT networks necessitates expert systems that support accurate, interpretable, and resource-efficient intrusion detection under strict privacy and computational constraints. This paper presents HED-ID, a fully integrated federated expert system designed for real-time, edge-oriented anomaly detection. The system combines: (i) a stacked bidirectional GRU (BiGRU) architecture with hybrid temporal–spatial attention for sequential and feature-level anomaly modeling, (ii) a resource-adaptive Grey Wolf Optimizer (A-GWO) that modulates exploration–exploitation behavior based on real-time CPU utilization and Bayesian epistemic uncertainty, with formal convergence proof under bounded resource shifts (Appendix A), (iii) federated SHAP, which aggregates local explanations …

Social media platforms are widely used by individuals from diverse demographic backgrounds to share their opinions and daily experiences. The anonymity provided by these platforms has increased the prevalence of hate speech, causing significant psychological harm to targeted groups. Existing hate speech detection approaches predominantly rely on binary classification, which fails to capture the lexical and contextual diversity of hate categories, leading to the misclassification of hate against minority groups. Common fixes like CPAP machines, nasal strips, and earplugs either have to be worn or don’t do much against the deep, low-pitched rumble that makes snoring so hard to ignore.

Moose (Alces alces) are an important subsistence and sport harvested species in Alaska, yet seasonal patterns of male moose movement and habitat selection remain poorly understood. This knowledge gap limits our ability to anticipate hunter accessibility and effectively manage populations. In this thesis, I evaluated seasonal space use, movement behavior, and habitat selection of 78 GPS-collared adult males across three study areas in Interior Alaska during 2023 and 2024.
