"Wikipedia in the Classroom: From Orientation to Application" is a flexible mini-unit designed to help early-career teachers rethink how open web tools can be used in the classroom. Built for graduate teacher preparation programs, the unit breaks learning into 15- to 45-minute micro-lessons spread across a semester. This structure gives future educators low-stakes, repeated opportunities to build digital literacy without taking time away from core course content.

This study presents a meta-analysis of sampling rates for per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) measured with microporous polyethylene tube (MPT) passive samplers, integra- tive tools used for monitoring pollutants in aquatic environments. Data from five independent field campaigns spanning groundwater, freshwater, and saltwater environments were compiled to recalculate sampling rates and evaluate the statistical influence of temperature, ambient PFAS concentrations, and deployment duration on MPT performance. A theoretical model describing PFAS transport through MPTs was refined and predicts sampling rates based solely on molecular weight, carbon number, and molar volume. Statistical models frequently employ nonlinear effects, interactions, and multiresolution basis expansions to represent complex relationships between predictors and responses. Determining the appropriate level of model complexity, however, remains a fundamental challenge. This dissertation introduces Inherited Local Shrinkage (ILS), a Bayesian global-local shrinkage framework for adaptive functional form discovery that enforces strong heredity among hierarchically related predictors.

ILS propagates shrinkage through directed acyclic graphs representing predictor inheritance, ensuring that increasingly complex terms are retained only when supported by simpler parent structure. The framework applies broadly to polynomial regression, interaction models, wavelets, splines, and other hierarchical basis expansions, while naturally extending to …

High tunnels are used to extend the growing season. Unlike greenhouses, high tunnels are semi-permanent and not heated or cooled by a climate-control system. Instead, they use plastic sheeting to trap solar heat, allowing for season extension in temperate climates around spring and fall. Bee pollination can improve yields for several valuable crop species grown in high tunnels. Because high tunnels are largely enclosed, bees are typically released and managed within the structure. This fact sheet provides information on how to obtain and manage bee pollinators in high tunnels.

Fens are a unique class of wetland that host many specialized plant species globally and, in Utah, occur primarily in the Uinta Mountains. This guide provides an easy-to-use resource for amateurs and professionals who want to identify plants in fens. This guide includes key characteristics for identifying species, details on similar species and how to tell them apart, and information on habitat and frequency of occurrence. Species range from wetland obligates to upland plants that occasionally make their way into fens, with the purpose of including most species that may be encountered in a fen.
