The Use Of Schanginia Arbuscula Seeds As An Adsorbent For The Removal Of Congo Red And Eosin-Y Dyes, Ali K. Al-Muttairi
Baghdad Science Journal
Water is a crucial element for human prosperity, and maintaining clean and safe water is crucial for survival, and due to the continuous human activities, the water is being drastically polluted. These pollutants require treatment to reduce or remove them, and from the different types of water treatment methods, adsorption is considered a fast, affordable, and easy to apply method. In this study, the ability of Schanginia arbuscula seeds as an adsorbent to remove two dyes, which are congo red (C.R.) dye and eosin Y (E.Y.) dye was tested, at first, the characterization of the adsorbent was studied by using …

Quantum Chemical Calculations On The Inhibition Of Mild Steel Corrosion In Acidic Medium Using Phenylpropanoids Of Alpinia Galanga, Maimoonah Khalid Qasim
Baghdad Science Journal
Mild steel protection against acid-related degradation requires corrosion inhibition methods as its primary safeguarding approach. The study evaluated phenylpropanoid compounds of Alpinia galanga as corrosion inhibitors through density functional theory (DFT) calculations to determine their inhibitory effectiveness. This paper conducted studies to determine which parts of the corrosion inhibitors served as active sites while analyzing their inhibiting effects. DFT calculations helped identify the locations where inhibitors acted as active sites. The experimental results demonstrated important distinctions in the total corrosion inhibition ability between the various phenylpropanoids present in Alpinia Galanga compounds. The experimental potentiodynamic polarization tests demonstrated inhibition efficiencies (IE) …

Baghdad Science Journal
The current research deals with 2-carboxyindole, with emphasizing their biological activities. Indole derivatives that well-known for their wide biological characteristics like anticancer, antiviral, and antibacterial activities, were modified by adding Schiff base and beta-lactam frameworks in order to boost their therapeutics prospective. The compounds have been synthesized in a series of steps, which involved Mannich reactions, aldehyde condensation, as well as beta-lactam formation with chloroacetyl chloride. TLC, FTIR, 1H-NMR, and 13C-NMR spectroscopy have been employed to identify the structural details. Schiff base derivatives containing nitro (-NO2) as well as chlorine (-Cl) substituents exhibited high antibacterial as …
Approximation Of Bi-Continuous Semigroups In The Trotter-Kato Framework: Application To Diffusion Equations With Non-Local Boundary Conditions, Abdulhameed Qahtan Abbood Altai
Approximation Of Bi-Continuous Semigroups In The Trotter-Kato Framework: Application To Diffusion Equations With Non-Local Boundary Conditions, Abdulhameed Qahtan Abbood Altai
Baghdad Science Journal
This study develops and practically reformulates the Trotter–Kato theorem for the approximation of bi-continuous semigroups defined on Banach spaces with weaker locally convex Hausdorff topologies. This method extends the Trotter–Kato framework to semigroups with weak continuity by moving the analysis from the classical norm topology to a weaker topology. Equivalence and approximation conditions are derived without requiring explicit computation of resolvents, replacing them with T-stability and T-consistency properties. This new reformulation of the Trotter–Kato theorem provides a direct method for establishing convergence between approximating and limit semigroups, thereby simplifying both theoretical proofs and numerical analysis. The suggested framework …

Insertion Of Operations, Administration, And Maintenance (Oam) Overhead Bytes Over A 1 Gigabit Ethernet Link To Extend Optical Service Channel Range For Next-Generation Optical Line Systems, Gilberto Loprieno, Alessandro Putortì, Kannan Kapistalam Kasturirangan, Sara Corti
Defensive Publications Series
A technique is proposed herein for transporting Operations, Administration, and Maintenance (OAM) overhead over a 1 Gigabit Ethernet (1GbE) Optical Service Channel (OSC) by replacing available inter-packet-gap (IPG) idle capacity with OAM Sequence Ordered Sets. A hardware data path between a 1000Base-X Physical Coding Sublayer (PCS) and a 25 Gigabit Ethernet (25GbE) PCS performs rate adaptation, 64b/66b mapping, 256b/257b transcoding, and forward error correction (FEC), while preserving a 1.25-Gbit/s line rate. The OAM Ordered Set may use a /9C/AA/BB/CC structure in which AA and BB carry optical status information and CC carries control information including multiframe, fault-management, and Trail Trace …

Visualizing Equity: A Design Framework For Global Mental Health Communication For Generation Z, Jose Pena
Visualizing Equity: A Design Framework For Global Mental Health Communication For Generation Z, Jose Pena
Masters Theses
There is a lot of information about mental health available today. However, for Generation Z, those born between 1997 and 2012, the information proves both challenging to find and difficult to understand. The World Health Organization and other global groups publish a lot of information about mental health inequality, treatment gaps, and workforce shortages. However, this information is usually presented in dense, technical formats that are not meant for young people who are not experts. Many digital mental health tools, on the other hand, don’t give young people the emotional connection, cultural relevance, and visual clarity they need to deal …

Perceived Effects Of Cancel Culture Threat And Digital Natives’ Patterns Of Communication On Social Media, Randolph N. Townley
Perceived Effects Of Cancel Culture Threat And Digital Natives’ Patterns Of Communication On Social Media, Randolph N. Townley
Doctoral Dissertations and Projects
"Cancel culture" is a well-known atropism that has become commonplace on social media. To many this may feel like a new phenomenon, but it has existed in various forms since antiquity. From biblical times to today, people have attempted to silence dissenting viewpoints. The cancel culture philosophy is distributed over all viewpoints that have a potentially offensive bent for the group of people who deem the content offensive. This study evaluated whether digital natives feel compelled to limit their exposure on social media to their authentic viewpoints considering the threat of repercussions. Using Albert Bandura’s social cognitive theory coupled with …

The Social Construction Of Firearm Meaning In 2022 Hollywood Films: A Qualitative Content Analysis, Anthony L. Paduano
Doctoral Dissertations and Projects
This qualitative study investigated how meaning was socially constructed around firearms in mainstream American cinema. The study used Berger and Luckmann’s (1966) social construction of reality as the primary framework, with semiotic analysis and Bandura’s (1977, 1986) social learning theory as supporting lenses, treating firearms as culturally loaded signs whose meanings were encoded and stabilized through narrative convention. A qualitative content analysis of 50 films, 2022 Hollywood films in which firearms were prominent enough to meet the study’s inclusion criteria, was conducted using a two-pool design that combined purposive selection with random selection from a bounded pool of commercially prominent …
Are We Prepared? A Qualitative Multiple Case Study On Multijurisdictional Readiness And Response Capabilities For Atypical Complex Coordinated Incidents Involving Mass-Casualty Cbrne Threats In The State Of Washington, Christopher J. Gard
Doctoral Dissertations and Projects
Complex coordinated terrorist attacks involving chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear, and explosive (CBRNE) elements, along with active shooter threats, pose significant challenges for first-responding law enforcement officers. Responding to active threats where civilian lives are at immediate risk of serious injury or death requires an immediate, decisive response from the initial officers on the scene. When responders learn that perpetrators have dispersed one or more CBRNE-related weapons during an ongoing violent spree, on-site law enforcement personnel must be appropriately trained and adequately equipped to quickly and decisively confront and neutralize the attacker(s). Because prolonged federal CBRNE response assets can be delayed …
