Quantifying The Response Of Bankfull Channel Width To Active Faulting In The Qianhe Graben On The Southwest Margin Of Ordos Block, China, Zhiheng Liu, Sarah Boulton, Suiping Zhou, Jianhua Guo, Tingting Wu, Wenjie Zhang, Ling Han

River longitudinal profiles have been widely used to quantify the transient landscape response to active faulting, but the fluvial cross-section is often ignored, yet width can also reveal river incision and tectonic activity. Channel width responds to tectonic forcing through flow concentration effects resulting in channel narrowing where vertical incision dominates during uplift acceleration. Here we employ a novel bankfull channel width extraction method using Landsat and ZY-3 satellite images, and SRTM DEM data to evaluate the cross-section landscape response to active faulting in the Qianhe Graben of southwest Ordos, China. Although some areas are difficult to access (e.g., thick …

This study explores the experiences of first-generation graduate students (FGGS) during the COVID-19 pandemic, specifically the positive and negative impacts of the pandemic on their learning experiences and their implications for the design of online graduate programs that foster a sense of belonging.

Single-grain pollen analysis is essential for advancing chemical palynology, which classifies morphologically similar taxa based on taxon-specific pollen and sporopollenin chemistry. Fourier-Transform Infrared (FT-IR) spectroscopy and microspectroscopy (μFT-IR) are widely used to differentiate morphologically similar grains but face limitations from Mie scattering and coarse spatial resolution. Here, we present the first application of Optical-PhotoThermal Infrared (O-PTIR) spectroscopy to chemically treated single pollen grains, using Molinia caerulea as a model taxon to fully test and evaluate the technical capabilities and limitations of this technique. O-PTIR achieves sub-micron “super-resolution” infrared spectroscopy through non-contact, non-destructive measurements by exploiting the photothermal effect. O-PTIR spectra …

Data Repository For The Distribution Of Small Impact Craters Along The Msl Curiosity Rover Traverse In Gale Crater, Mars, Megan E. Hoffman

The theoretical limit of the smallest impact crater diameter that can form under current martian atmospheric conditions is approximately 0.25 m, which is near the projected pixel size of the best orbital imagers around Mars. As a result, there have been limited studies into how the retention of the smallest impact craters on Mars varies with surface properties, since orbital images alone cannot confidently resolve them. Rovers and landers are needed to confidently differentiate and measure these smallest craters. Here we catalog small impact craters seen along the first 25 km, or 3120 sols of the Mars Curiosity rover traverse …

Global Perspectives On Esg And Sdgs In Aviation, Leila Halawi Jan 2026

Global Perspectives On Esg And Sdgs In Aviation, Leila Halawi

ESG implementation in aviation and airline operations has progressed significantly in the past few years. ESG is thought of as a source of competitive advantage. This research investigates the complex connection between ESG practices, SDG alignment, and trust-building in airline operations. We examine how airlines navigate these complex dynamics by drawing on literature and case studies from three distinct regions: the United States, Europe, and South America. We synthesize existing knowledge to illuminate pathways toward a more sustainable and trusted aviation industry and offer insights into successful approaches, persistent challenges, and emerging trends. © 2026 selection and editorial matter, Joanna …
