IMPORTANCE: Blinatumomab, a novel immunotherapy administered as a 28-day continuous infusion, has fundamentally shifted the treatment paradigm for pediatric B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (B-ALL) and is now considered a component of standard therapy for the most common childhood cancer. However, the care delivery challenges in transitioning from an experimental agent on a clinical trial to widespread clinical implementation are unknown.
OBJECTIVE: To characterize the clinical landscape of pediatric blinatumomab care-delivery practice and challenges in the US from the perspective of treating centers.
DESIGN, SETTING, AND PARTICIPANTS: This survey study was conducted from February to March 2025 among US member institutions …

Nepal’s catastrophic 26 August 2026 Bhote Koshi–Trishuli flood should be understood not only as a humanitarian tragedy but also as a potentially major turning point in updating national settlement and reconstruction policy. Engineers and scientists have described the floods as a glacier–bedrock collapse that triggered an ice-rock avalanche and debris flow. As per the live updates on September 7, 2026, the total death toll was 1,355, and 4,996 people were missing (The Hindu, 2026). Indian and Nepali rescuers worked urgently to locate and rescue people buried under hydropower tunnels, buildings, mud, and landslide debris.

Pisa In Brief Australia 2025: Student Performance, Lisa De Bortoli, Catherine Underwood
OECD Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA) Australia
PISA in Brief summarises the key findings from PISA 2025 for Australian students. It compares Australia’s performance with other participating countries and economies, examines trends over time, and highlights differences in achievement across Australian states and territories and key demographic groups. PISA uses 2 main measures to describe student achievement. Mean scores show overall performance, while proficiency levels (ranging from below Level 1 to Level 6) explain the types of knowledge and skills students can typically demonstrate. This report focuses on differences that are statistically significant (in other words, differences that are unlikely to have occurred by chance). The report …

As climate change intensifies, cultivating hope has become critical for sustaining possibilities and collective action. However, existing scholarship on hope remains predominantly Eurocentric and theoretical, offering limited empirical attention to how hope is generated and sustained through everyday actions in the Global South. This paper addresses this gap by examining four grassroots initiatives in the Philippines engaged in environmental advocacy, post-disaster recovery, youth empowerment, and speculative design. Drawing on fieldwork conducted between 2017 and 2024 and guided by the framework of radical hope, we analyse how a climate politics of hope is enacted in practice. Our findings reveal three dynamics …

Amicus Briefs & Court Filings
SUMMARY OF THE ARGUMENT: The Sentencing Guidelines are, in practice, the most consequential legal text in federal criminal law. Yet this Court has abstained from interpreting the Guidelines for decades. That practice is anomalous in the federal judiciary and should end. District courts must correctly calculate every defendant’s guideline range at every sentencing hearing. Courts of Appeals routinely hear appeals asserting guideline mistakes. And differences of appellate opinion over purely legal, highly consequential questions often arise. This Court apparently declines to hear such cases because the Sentencing Commission could resolve those conflicts. See Braxton v. United States,500 U.S. 344, …

20 Years Of Neutrosophic Statistics: A Bibliometric Analysis, Hammad Khalid, Arshad Hameed
Neutrosophic Systems with Applications
Florentin Smarandache introduced neutrosophic statistics (NS), a formalism for representing uncertainty and indeterminacy in observations, parameters and statistics in an extension to classical and interval statistics. Although widespread in various contexts, such as statistical quality control, hypothesis testing, medical diagnosis, and decision science, and increasingly used and developed, the scientific evolution and conceptual framework of the science of decision making remain largely unexamined. To fill this gap, the present study has been conducted with a comprehensive bibliometric analysis of NS research articles published between 2003 to 2025 from Scopus which has been conducted following the SPAR-4-SLR protocol. In all, 501 …

On the morning of 26 August 2026, the mountains above Nepal’s northern frontier delivered a disaster of almost unimaginable speed and scale. A massive mass of ice, rock, and sediment detached in the high Himalayan terrain near the Nepal–Tibet border, descended roughly 1,200 metres, interacted with the Lhende Khola system, and generated a debris-rich flood that surged through the Bhote Koshi and Trishuli river corridors, destroying settlements, markets, roads, bridges, hydropower facilities, and an international border crossing and transforming them into fields of mud, boulders, and wreckage within minutes (ICIMOD, 2026b; Reuters, 2026a). Satellite analysis indicates that a substantial section …

Rachel's Quest, William Lindsey Mcdonald
Correspondence
Letter from William Lindsey McDonald to Rachel, with an unlisted last name, in response to the question "who is Piedmont?" McDonald's answer endeavors to stretch across time and becomes philosophical at times. To the outsider, it would appear that McDonald was answering an inquiry about the Piedmont plateau region within the Eastern United States, a relevant subject for a local historian who often described geography. However, McDonald is instead telling about the somewhat humorous existence of an "old owl" that inhabited his childhood.

The State Of The Unions 2026: A Profile Of Organized Labor In New York City, New York State, And The United States, Ruth Milkman, Joseph Van Der Naald
Publications and Research
The 2026 State of the Unions report finds that while union density remains strong in New York, membership rates remain largely unchanged, despite renewed organizing, successful strikes and strong public support for labor. Union density stands at 20.5 percent in New York City and 20.9 percent statewide, more than double the national rate of 10 percent, yet well below levels recorded two decades ago. The report also examines the persistent divide between public- and private-sector unionization, the industries and workers sustaining organized labor, and the forces limiting growth. A special section considers Mayor Zohran Mamdani’s labor-friendly record and the opportunities …

The Impact Of Temporary Housing Policies On Social Stability: A Case Study Of The Informal Settlements Development Project In Jeddah, Mansour Alshehri, Waleed Alzamil
UB Journal for Humanities
This study examines the impact of temporary housing policies on social stability in the context of slum redevelopment in Jeddah, focusing on the effectiveness of transitional housing mechanisms in mitigating displacement impacts. It adopts a descriptive-analytical approach within a qualitative case study, drawing on theoretical frameworks, international standards, expert interviews, and analysis of official documents. The findings show that housing security was organizationally achieved through rental support, but remained limited due to its temporary nature and unclear continuity. They also reveal weakened social ties caused by the absence of policies preserving community networks, along with challenges in accessing services despite …

Most research into post-fire geomorphology has been conducted in regions with frequent fire, such as in dry Mediterranean and temperate climates and less has been conducted in wet forests where wildfire is now expanding with climate change. Because climate, soils, topography, vegetation, management legacies and fire history influence post-fire geomorphic processes, research into post-fire erosion and debris flow hazards across a broader set of climatologies is needed. The western Pacific Northwest (wPNW) of the United States is susceptible to multiple types of post-fire debris flows (i.e. shallow landslide-initiated and runoff-generated) that can be initiated by longer-duration lower-intensity rainfall compared to …

Electroencephalography is the most commonly used diagnostic tool for epilepsy. However, interpreting electroencephalograms (EEGs) requires expertise that is not widely available. Advances in digital technology and wearables have enabled large-scale EEG recording, generating vast amounts of data that cannot be managed through traditional visual interpretation by experts. Artificial intelligence (AI) has the potential to augment human expertise and reduce workloads. The application of artificial neural networks in analysing clinical EEG recordings has led to major breakthroughs, bringing AI-based EEG interpretation closer to clinical implementation. In this Review, we summarise the most important research and development results in this field from …

Regenerative Tourism And Transformative Destination Management: Developing A Framework Through The Case Of County Offaly, Yi (Alex) Yu, Mary Loonam Dr, Tony Johnston
Irish Journal of Tourism, Hospitality, Leisure and Event Research
The increasing urgency of climate change, biodiversity loss, and socio-economic transition has generated growing interest in tourism approaches that move beyond sustainability towards more transformative forms of development. While sustainable tourism has become the dominant paradigm within tourism planning and policy, it has been criticised for its emphasis on impact mitigation and its limited capacity to address systemic challenges. In response, regenerative tourism has emerged as an alternative framework that seeks to restore and enhance ecological, social, cultural, and economic systems through tourism activity.
This paper explores the potential of regenerative tourism as a framework for transformative destination management. Drawing …

Beyond Tuition: Understanding The Financial Impact Of Full-Time Clinical Education On Doctor Of Physical Therapy Students, Michelle L. Donahue
Internet Journal of Allied Health Sciences and Practice
Purpose: The physical therapy literature has explored the cost and affordability of a Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) education; however, academic and clinical educators may lack a nuanced understanding of the costs students incur to complete their full-time Clinical Education (CE) experiences. This study explored expenses beyond course credits during a full-time CE experience. As this was the first exploratory study on this topic, the aim was to gather information from a diverse sample of participants about the costs associated with a CE experience and the perceived financial burden. Method: A survey was developed and administered to collect quantitative and …
Space-Based Missile Defense With Early Interceptor Launch Strategies, William Priedhorsky, James Wells
Space-Based Missile Defense With Early Interceptor Launch Strategies, William Priedhorsky, James Wells
Space and Defense
There is renewed interest in space-based boost-phase intercept (SBPI) for missile defense against ICBMs of near-peer adversaries. We discuss SBPI in the context of other missile defense approaches, and address one of its challenges, which is the expense of fielding a large enough constellation of interceptors in space to counter even a small number of ICBMs. We develop an early-launch approach that could substantively reduce the required density of interceptors. Because every second matters in boost-phase defense, early launch of interceptors can significantly increase the reach of each interceptor. Early launch would require interceptors that have highly throttleable motors. Our …

A revolutionary transformation is underway in agricultural systems, with Natural Farming (NF) being promoted as an agrochemical-free, agroecological alternative to conventional Chemical Farming (CF) in several states of India. To assess the successful adoption of NF among smallholder farming systems in the Himalayan region, this study was conducted in Himachal Pradesh, India. Primary data were collected from 360 randomly selected farmers across six districts using a simple random sampling technique. The study mainly focused on the marginal and small farmers, because 80% of farmers in state are marginal and small. The study evaluated the comparative economics NF and CF, corelation …
