Black birthing people in the United States continue to experience unequal maternal health outcomes, shaped in part by racism and barriers to nutritious food, culturally relevant health education, and supportive community spaces. While prenatal nutrition education and food assistance programs can provide important resources, information alone cannot address the challenges many people face when trying to access healthy and affordable food during pregnancy. Background: The COVID-19 pandemic severely disrupted markets. While sustainability performance measured by ESG scores theoretically buffers against shocks, its efficacy in emerging markets with nascent sustainability frameworks remains underexplored. Method: We analyze a balanced panel of 1,395 observations from 279 non-financial Southeast Asian firms (2020–2024). Using OLS, lagged, and fixed effects models, we compare the impact of sustainability performance on stock resilience during the 2020–2022 and post-pandemic (2023–2024) periods. Findings: Sustainability performance (ESG scores) significantly enhanced stock resilience during the pandemic. However, this protective effect dissipated post-pandemic. The degree to which people accept the disruptions wildlife brings to their lives, known as social tolerance, can determine whether a recovery program succeeds or fails, yet it remains understudied and underapplied in management plans. This dissertation studies how people in Poland and the western United States feel about living with the two living species of bison, the largest land animals in Europe and North America. Climate-induced drought has become a growing concern across South Asia as rising temperatures and monsoon variability intensify hydroclimatic stress. This study evaluates historical (1979–2014) and future (2015–2100) hydroclimatic conditions in Rangpur using observed data and CanESM5 projections for three CMIP6 scenarios (SSP1-1.9, SSP2-2.6, SSP5-8.5). Multi-scale Standardized Precipitation Index (SPI) and Standardized Precipitation Evapotranspiration Index (SPEI) were applied to detect droughts, while Tmax and Tmin Z-scores quantified heat anomalies and compound drought–temperature events. Historical records show strong rainfall variability with no significant long-term trend, but significant warming particularly in Tmin indicating increasing evaporative demand. Indigenous Alaskans rely on subsistence hunting for food, with Barren-ground caribou making up approximately 27% of their diet. It is believed by subsistence hunters that non-local hunting is forcing a change in caribou migration behavior. This study examined non-local harvesting records from 2013 – 2025 in the northwest and interior Game Management Units (GMU) and Alaksa’s Western Arctic Caribou Herd (WACH) migration range data to answer the question, is there a spatial relationship between non-local harvests and WACH migration behavior. City-level data are derived from Applied Climate Information System (ACIS) operated by National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), state-level data are derived from NOAA’s National Centers for Environmental Information (NCEI).

Localization is not enough for the analysis of spatial patterns; a principled geometric and statistical framework is required. This paper proposes an integrated spatial intelligence system combining deep learning, computational geometry, and spatial statistics, which is a unified and interpretable system. It is based on segmentation localization that accurately localizes the centroid of each object without the disadvantages of the bounding box. These centroids form a natural Voronoi tessellation of regions of spatial influence intrinsic to the data instead of imposing any artificial restrictions. Outcomes and Impact Quarterly

Justice-involved youth often experience elevated levels of stress, mental health challenges, and reduced access to positive developmental opportunities. A nature- and adventure-based youth development program designed to strengthen resilience, self-efficacy, nature-connectedness, and well-being among justice-involved youth was piloted in 2025 to address these challenges. Pilot findings indicated improvements in resilience, self-efficacy, hopefulness, and connectedness to nature.

This study developed a system dynamics model to simulate stunting reduction in West Sumatra Province, Indonesia, by integrating infant and toddler health, maternal health, and environmental determinants. Secondary data from 2020–2024 on low birth weight, immunization, malnutrition, exclusive breastfeeding, maternal chronic energy deficiency, iron and folic acid supplement distribution, sanitation, and safe drinking water access were compiled from West Sumatra Provincial Health Office and Statistics Indonesia, and validated through consultation with five stakeholder institutions. Social isolation is a major public health concern among older adults, yet less is known about how multilevel residential environments shape isolation among those aging in place. Guided by the Socio-Ecological Model, Person–Environment Fit, and a life-course perspective, this dissertation examined whether micro-level home hazards, meso-level neighborhood social cohesion and physical disorder, and macro-level census-tract structural conditions were associated with social isolation. It also examined whether life-course socioeconomic mobility moderated the associations between home and neighborhood environments and social isolation.

For more than 40 years, scientists have projected future sea‐level change. Documenting how sea‐level projections have evolved is vital for tracking progress, uncertainties, and future research needs. Here, we update and analyze a database of global‐mean sea level (GMSL) projections dating from 1982 to 2025, identifying five key findings. First, GMSL projection generation has been concentrated in a small number of developed countries, with 95% of projections produced in the United States, United Kingdom, European Union, or Australia. ICESat‐2 uses visible laser pulses and photon‐counting detectors to range the Earth's surface, providing precision altimetry for measuring ice sheet elevation change. However, since water ice is transparent to visible light, the photon returns recorded by ICESat‐2's ATLAS instrument may originate from subsurface scattering inside the snow or glacier ice volume, making the surface appear lower than it is. Here, we develop a Monte Carlo Radiative Transfer model to characterize the potential bias caused by subsurface scattering in snow and ice.
