Bimetallic catalysts were prepared by deposition of 1% of loading of (Pt-Co) onto SBA 15 support using heterogeneous reaction for enhancing hydroisomerization and promoting hydrocracking for the decomposition of n-heptane. The catalytic performance of the catalysts was subsequently evaluated thereafter. Characterization of the prepared catalysts was done by various techniques, which include XRD, FTIR, BETBJH, SEM/EDS, and TEM. The temperature range studied for this catalytic activity was 250 to 400 °C, at atmospheric pressure in a plug-flow reactor. Background: Timely availability of vaccine packaging is critical to pharmaceutical supply chain reliability, as packaging materials play a key role in maintaining cold chain integrity during distribution. Inadequate availability of packaging materials can disrupt vaccine delivery even when finished vaccines are ready for shipment. The case company faces frequent delivery delays, insufficient safety stock, and irregular replenishment of vaccine packaging materials, which have jeopardized the organization’s target of achieving a 90% on-time delivery rate.

Open proximal contacts between posterior dental implant restorations and adjacent natural teeth are a common yet underappreciated complication. This review examines the multifactorial etiology of open contact formation, including biomechanical discrepancies, prosthetic and surgical factors, occlusal force dynamics, and natural tooth migration. The clinical consequences-ranging from food impaction and gingival inflammation to proximal bone loss and diminished patient satisfaction-are also analyzed. These complications not only affected oral hygiene and comfort but might also contribute to peri-implant tissue breakdown and increased maintenance needs. Background/purpose The importance of oral health is globally recognized, which has increased the demand for qualified dental hygienists. This study assessed the performance of multimodal large language models (LLMs), on the Japanese National Examination for Dental Hygienists, focusing on their ability to answer visually-based questions and evaluating image-recognition capabilities. Materials and methods The 34th Japanese National Examination for Dental Hygienists (March 2025) supplied 213 multiple-choice questions (74 text-only, 139 visually-based). Background/purpose Anterior crossbite affects facial aesthetics and may cause temporomandibular joint disorders and masticatory muscle dysfunction. Prolonged abnormal bite positioning may impact muscle activity and affect treatment stability. Although orthodontic therapy aims to realign teeth and correct bite relationships, the neuromuscular adaptations following treatment remain unclear. This study aims to investigate the changes in masticatory muscle activity before and after orthodontic treatment in patients with anterior crossbite using surface electromyography (sEMG). In this chapter, we discuss the state of housing in Hampton Roads. We focus on the supply side of the market for reasons that will become apparent throughout the chapter. We start with single-family housing and then discuss multi-family housing. We then explore factors that influence the supply of housing across the region. We conclude with actions that Hampton Roads can take to address the supply and, by extension, the affordability of housing in the region.

INTRODUCTION: We describe the reliability of remote self-administered digital cognitive measures completed via the Mayo Test Drive (MTD) web-based platform.

METHODS: A total of 1846 participants (mean age = 70, SD = 12, range 31-101; 48% male; 96% White; 99% non-Hispanic; 97% cognitively unimpaired) with two to four complete MTD sessions at ∼7.5-month intervals were included. Test-retest reliability was assessed using single-rating, absolute-agreement, and two-way mixed intraclass correlation coefficients (ICCs) with 95% confidence intervals. ICCs for in-person-administered traditional neuropsychological measures were compared to MTD for a subset of 244 participants. Despite the widely accepted view that foot pursuits are inherently dangerous for both police officers and citizens, a minority of municipal police agencies have adopted policies that have the potential to minimize the risk of harm by limiting the circumstances in which police officers are permitted to pursue a subject on foot. This paper presents data related to foot pursuit incidents and existing foot pursuit policies. The paper documents that most existing foot pursuit policies are limited in their potential to reduce unwarranted deadly encounters because the guidance they provide requires officers to consider and weigh vague concepts in tense, …

By isolating the way in which those different sovereign regulators approach these choices in respect to AI, it is possible to evaluate more clearly the likely effects of regulation, and to better understand aspects of regulatory design that to date have been overlooked. Since the modern death penalty era, this country’s six execution methods have become crueler over time. This article details the execution procedures adopted across death penalty states up to the end of 2025, analyzing their societal and cultural underpinnings and explaining how they were implemented, including their shared flaws, unscientific origins and protocols, and reliance on untrained, unqualified, or unknown executioners. While legislatures and courts claim that states move from one technique to the next to enhance greater humaneness, history shows that such switches are primarily propelled by constitutional challenges to a state’s particular technique. Although the Fourth Amendment protects against “unreasonable searches and seizures,” this right is not enjoyed by all people equally. Supreme Court jurisprudence has curtailed the Fourth Amendment privacy rights of individuals under probation or parole supervision. In this line of cases, the Court concluded that the government’s interest in monitoring supervisees, reducing recidivism, and promoting public safety outweighed their reasonable expectation of privacy.

However, surveillance mechanisms like probation and parole extend the criminal legal system’s carceral gaze beyond the supervisees and peer into the bedrooms and digital lives of their families, roommates, and communities, or who this Article calls system-adjacent …

As economic security has seemingly moved to the center of American and European foreign policy, both the United States and the European Union have broadened their interpretation of international law rules governing security, coercion, and intervention. But these interpretations are not exactly new, echoing developing state interpretations of international law that developed states had long ago seemingly rejected. How are these once moribund interpretations of security, force, and coercion being brought back to life?

In Brokering Safety, Sharma, Kadri, and Adler urge federal policymakers to impose on data brokers the greater duty of policing and stemming online stalking, harassment, and related abuse; that burden should not fall to victims, they argue. Their proposal would close the unevenness among state laws, shift the burden of oversight away from victims, and, importantly, ensure accountability at a systemic level, addressing gaps in enforcement that allow brokers to evade meaningful consequences. Or we tell ourselves this silence is for their own protection, part of their privilege against self-incrimination and the rules we have created for their own benefit. The purpose of this explanatory sequential mixed methods research was to investigate the relationships between school principal leadership competencies, school organizational culture, and school performance grades in elementary schools in one district in western North Carolina using Quinn and Rohrbaugh’s (1983) Competing Values Framework (CVF). This study measured the correlation between school organizational culture, as measured by the Organizational Culture Assessment Instrument; school effectiveness, as indicated by the NC Accountability Grading Scale; and principal behaviors at the elementary level, as measured by the Leadership Competencies Assessment. This mixed methods study explored high school graduates’ perceptions of how participation in extracurricular activities influenced their college and career readiness. Grounded in Bandura’s (1986) Social Cognitive Theory and Deci and Ryan’s (1985) Self-Determination Theory, the study examined how experiences in athletics, clubs, organizations, and leadership roles contributed to graduates’ development of confidence, motivation, leadership skills, belonging, and real-world competencies. A sequential explanatory mixed methods design was employed. The quantitative phase consisted of a 20-item survey completed by 67 graduates of a rural South Carolina high school, with responses analyzed using descriptive statistics and chi-square goodness-of-fit tests. Literacy is a strong predictor of academic achievement and long-term success beyond the school years; Therefore, educators must have access to a broad range of instructional resources, including evidence-based intervention models, to address students' diverse literacy needs. This study examined the role of phonics within a one-on-one Early Literacy Intervention, explored teachers’ understanding and experiences implementing phonics instruction in that context, and compared the phonics skills of students who successfully completed the intervention with those of the average first-grade student. This study explored stakeholder perceptions of Career and Technical Education (CTE) program effectiveness for preparing students for postsecondary pathways. The investigation focused on CTE teachers’ and business partners’ perspectives about student readiness and workforce preparation. This study used qualitative research and a theoretical framework from the Human Capital Theory, the Social Cognitive Career Theory, and the College and Career Readiness Framework. Background: Cervical cancer remains the fourth most common cancer in women globally, with 604,000 new cases annually. Early detection through cytological screening is critical, but manual interpretation suffers from high false negative rates and requires expert pathologists often unavailable in resource-limited settings.

Methods: We developed a novel hybrid framework combining InceptionV3-based deep feature extraction with Gini Index feature selection for automated cervical cancer cell classification. Using the Herlev dataset (917 Pap smear images: 242 normal, 675 abnormal), we extracted 2048 deep features and applied systematic feature selection to identify optimal discriminative subsets. This study examines the cognitive validity of a listen-to-summarize task on a university placement test. Cognitive validity is underinvestigated in listening assessment, especially for higher-order listening processes (Holzknecht et al., 2017; Rukthong, 2021). However, student notes from listening tests can record evidence of these processes (Yeager et al., 2024; Cushing, 1991). This study employed an exploratory sequential mixed-methods design to investigate the higher-order listening processes elicited by an integrated listen-to-summarize task.
